Ironically they will have seen the aftermath of far more car accidents, pedestrian accidents, sports injuries, assaults and alcohol related head injuries (cycle head injuries are a minority in any cohort study on head injuries)......yet somehow don't think that helmets have any benefit in these cases?

if a person falls form a bike at low speed, or simply falls whilst walking, the head injury impact is similar, yet one is censured for not wearing a helmet, and the other is not required to?

Sheer hypocrisy as either a helmet helps prevent injury or not.
Good point, but as I pointed out earlier, my wife said I can drink cider if I wear a helmet walking home.

This kind of statement is what I don't get. It's always said in such a way as to imply that there is evidence that proves beyond doubt that if worn properly a helmet will offer protection.
That is just the point, when it fitted properly I was prepared to go faster, so in some people's views it was taking more risks, to mine it was having more fun, if that's the same so be it.

No my point is that something that is highly unlikely to work in any way won't suddenly begin to work just cos you've fastened a strap.

I can probably guarantee I would have had less in the way of cuts to my head with a helmet.

If the strongest claims anyone made was that helmets prevent minor cuts and bruises, almost no one would argue.
But no one ever promotes their use on that basis, it's always suggested by their advocates that they will prevent serious head trauma and brain injury.

I gave you a like but you forgot about death, so it's 7.5/10.

My issue is that the use is aggressively and emotionally promoted for the group that suffers the least injuries

A low impact head injury on a bicycle without a helmet and you are a stupid idiot who doesn't love their wife and children, and are lucky you didn't end up as a vegetable sucking soup through a straw and your family wiping your incontinence from your body

Yet the same injury as a pedestrian and ...I Nothing, zilch, no comment, it is acceptable

Suggesting the cyclist didn't need a helmet is Lunacy, yet suggesting the pedestrian should is very, very silly

You're not the only person to crash, you know? This thread isn't only about you ;)

There's a lot about aerodynamic testing, but it still only claims the bog standard crash test of EN 1078 (and the CPSC test which was downgraded to allow weaker EN helmets to be sold in the USA). I think that's rather strange.

Did you notice that they offer 40% trade in for your crashed helmet, if you bought it from there and want the same again?
Good job as well, 40% of a ( price matched ) 250 quid is 100 quid off. Which takes the cost to 150 quid, which for such a superb bit of kit, is a billy bargain.

As someone who suffered neck pain apparently caused daily use of a relatively light helmet (220g), I echo that call.
The Carbon Kevlar number ( Casco warp sprint) weighs in at under 150g, the speed time is about 200g. So unless your neck is extremely weak, the effect of the lid's weight is not a massive issue for most people.

Perfectly put

I think @PenttitheFinn must have missed the point when he hit the 'like' button
