A bit like my bear repelling jacket then, which has been so successful that no bear has come close enough to demonstrate that it is working.

Totally OT

Perhaps my membership identifies me as a supporter which is why I have never been attacked by one

I see not much has changed while I've been away, glad your helmet helped in the accident @Racing roadkill even though some on here refuse to believe it, I wonder how your bare head would have handled the offending object which caused the severe dent in the outer shell and the damage to layers beneath? Actually, it doesn't bare thinking about does it?

I was out on the other week

I stopped off for lunch at a Country Pub

Due to the change from lit exterior and dim interior I failed to see the beam and cracked my head on it

I hate to think of the injury that I would have sustained if it was not for my faithful Tilley living up to the manafacturer claims of saving lives

I know there will be those who will refuse to believe this, but I really believe my Tilley saved me from serious injury

Hitting this beam without the Tilley I does not bare thinking about

C'mon, out on the what?
The pull? The beer? The town? Delete where applicable.

Sorry you bumped you head old fruit, it pays to look where you are walking sometimes.

But the point is that the Tilley saved me from serious injury, surely you have to agree with the contribution that the Tilley made to my safety?

Really? 198 pages of "Show us some evidence other than anecdotal: my mate crashed and his helmet saved his life" and you now decide it's boring?

Seriously between this and the thread where someone buys a £250 helmet, I wish I had a bridge I could sell.

Now you know none of that is asked for in this thread as laid out at the very beginning and anecdotal evidence is absolutely fine to use.
And we seem to be slightly lacking on "I wore a helmet, it saved me, I didn't go to hospital" statistics.
