Now this might be a street myth. But it is said a car park in Leeds city centre last week.Had two guys with high viz waistcoats on ,turning away electric cars,it seems weight is a problem.

I heard the car park's insurance was getting nervous about the dreaded electric battery fires

although most of the car park fire caused by electric cars that I have seen reported turn out to be normal cars!

Like the one at Luton Airport which destroyed the multistorey which was raised by a diesel range rover.

Here in Poshshire, year to date trumpton have been to 273 vehicle fires. The stats go...

ICE engined - 270.

Hybrid- 2. (Bear in mind that many hybrids these days are really IMAs or mild hybrids and don't even have a traction battery.)

Electric - 1.

People seem to be flapping over a risk that barely actually exists, if at all, while merrily ignoring the far more significant conventional risk.

I don’t get the EV misinformation and hatred, very strange

Why do pushchairs have to be so fecking big - do they need airbags and crumple zones ?

It's almost single handedly driven by the daily mail, who make their profit from stoking division, fear and outrage.

A miserable, negative paper written by miserable, negative people (I won’t call them journalists) for miserable, negative readers.

On later versions of my Accord you could fold half the rear seat back down, and make room for large luggage items to protrude from the boot into the cabin.

Struggling to think of any car I've driven I've bought in the last 2 decades yhat didn't have split rear seats, even my Polo.

Although... both seats down and a wheel off if i want my bike to fit inside.

I dunno. The original Mini was in many ways a dreadful car that never even turned a direct profit for its manufactuer (they did OK on service and repairs though.) Hell, it even had it's seams on the outside.

I know they have their following but objectively speaking they were pith poor in most area.
