I'd driven past it once, but wasn't able to read the sign correctly, so turned round at Long Causeway, then again at the bottom of Mount Road in order to park where I have
As the opening image suggests, this was a railway line, with it in a deep('ish') cutting, it closed in 1964 (Stanley Station was to the east/the right)
It ran from the Castleford - Leeds line, via Stanley, joining the Leeds - Wakefield - Doncaster - Kings Cross line adjacent to the (present) site of Outwood Station
I can remember it as the cutting, before being filled in
There is an adjacent bridge on Long Causeway, where the 3-storey brick building is
The roof apex seen over the parapet is the (built as a Wesleyan) Methodist Chapel, now closed & for sale
