I do have a leaning towards getting a camper

I was more in favour of a narrowboat but that thought has subsided

SWMBO would not go for it so I guess it won;t happen!

Enjoying van life, eh, Foss?

11 days and I'm off to the coast in mine.

So far so good. A little cold last night as it was a bit breezy and we got cold before getting in. Some changes. Need to pad the end poles of the awning as one was tapping on the van in 40mph winds. That said it has withstood the infamous Shell Island winds and heavy rain last night. MrsF fancies a better awning. Wants a roll out.

Solar panel worked well. Through power to keep the fridge running and excess power to input charge. Was getting over 80w in Spring sunshine. Fridge runs at max on 12v. Can turn it lower on mains

Sorry, still not convinced

Like many things, it is personal preferences, and of course, personal circumstances.

We had never “done” camping type stuff, but, at age 60, and, beginning our retirement, we bought a motorhome. For the next 15 years, we spent 5 or 6 months of each year roaming mainland Europe. We never set off with anything booked, except a ferry or tunnel crossing. We absolutely loved it.

Covid and lock down put a stop to our travels, and, subsequently, my wife’s ill health, otherwise we would be back to it.
