The 2024 Half Century (50km or 50 mile) Challenge Chatzone

The older I get the less motivated I feel to ride outside in the winter months, if it were not for the challenge I would be likely to spend those months on my turbo doing virtual routes under blue skies.

However I finally got out today and surprise (!) enjoyed it. Wrapped ups warm, dry roads for once and no wind. My Garmin said 6C but it felt warmer.

Perhaps I will do another year

Unlucky for some finisher no13,Well done @Cathryn completing on your 1st attempt with 55 points (even if it's too early to declare your points there's loads of time left 😁) is an achievement 🎉🥳. You've had a great year with great adventures which I have followed closely ,But how are you going to beat that in 2025 ? 😁

That’s me done! Got out on a cold but mainly dry day for a 50 miler. Pleased to have got that one done as time may be limited in the next few weeks. Hopefully I’ll get out for some extras over the holidays. Thanks for all the motivation and encouragement this thread and challenge brings!

By the way everyone, I had forgotten how to obtain a bronze star to add to my signature. Turns out the only place (that I have found) where you can copy and paste a star is from @13 rider 's signature on posts in this (and other threads). Everywhere else it seems to be a protected field.
