my knees are knackered ! pain when I first move in morning and if I sit too long but easier if I keep moving , ibruprofen if I know its a hard day ahead

I don’t from climbing. I have a creaky knee but it’s more wear and tear related. Maybe the climbing exposed an issue you already had but didn’t know about. What gear ratios did you have on the bike shim? My knee is definitely happier spinning rather than grinding.

Just done it - pootle is a good idea as it gets bloody steep near the end

Ill be there at the start but won't see anyone after the first 10 seconds.
@shimceltic The switch to crank brothers to give my foot more float helped my knee by letting my toe point a little outboard at the top of the pedal stroke.

My garage is back to normal, having visitors today.
