buy a new bike

That’s your answer for everything.. including when Mrs. Bassett asks what do want for dinner?

Was going to ride on bare roads in mid 40F weather yesterday. Today we got a light dusting of snow.

Fair warning.. spring tune up.. new derailleurs front and rear, new pedals, new chain and new cassettes on the way. I’m replacing the one on the bike and the one on the Neo with 11-34 11 speed.
Look out all you fast dudes at the front. This kind of stuff has to make me competitive.

I can hear the conversation you had with your wife from here Randy. “Yeah honey it’s a lot of boxes in one delivery. But just think how much money I saved not buying those crank arms!”

And think of the money saved in postage when lots at the same time !

It's like you were there. I strongly suspect that you both have an arrangement with your fed-ex drivers to use some Empty Dewalt tool boxes or one marked windows when they deliver. Mrs Turbo notices those tool are almost always very light titanium and Mrs Bassett notices most of the popular windows lately seem to be from Wilier.

Just get off the bike and walk over them!!

Have you planned the "final" route yet? If you planned crossing the Sallingsund Bridge, it has recently been closed for cyclists until fall 2023 due to a couple of cyclist accidents. The bridge has been undergoing repair/maintenance for about a year, and only one lane was open for cyclists/pedestrians and one for cars, instead of two in each direction. You can (legally) cross the bridge dragging the bike, but it is more than a mile long!
I have done it once as I had a flat and just started walking towards the Mrs. coming in the car to take me home. :-) Not a very nice walk in cycling shoes!!!

Thanks for the heads up. I only have the first 5 days with hotels booked so far. I'm looking at a ferry to Norway bypassing Oslo.
As an alternative route from the ferry from Norway I see this ferry that would miss the mile walk.

I find it a bit funny, that you can't ride across the bridge. The width of the shared cyclists/pedestrian lane is 1,60m and the rules say it HAS to be at least 1,70m for a two-way, so they had no other option than banning cycling! Come on! If 2 cyclists really WANTED to pass one another, I think they could find a solution to the missing 10 cm??? :cursing:

Red arrow = Sallingsundbroen, black arrow = the Hvalpsund ferry crossing.
I thought you were going down the west coast, which means you would swing left to cross the Vilsund Bridge, the island of Mors and then the Sallingsund Bridge? I can't read/don't understand the cycle.travel plan.
