5.9kms of hell! Looked like good races between Brusgaard and AAAC and between shim and Ian. Rerun Saturday.... Perhaps not!

okay: survived a strong warm up and a short race.
stomach ok but the trainer is still insane.
ok on flats and transitions to down hill but uphill transitions are well slow.
must also pair my cadence sensor as the bkool built in is pants, spinning like a mad man on rollers but mr avatar is standing up stroking like a harley

Exactly why I changed the Pro out @AAAC 76C .. loads of transition lag - almost 3 seconds at my speed.

Thanks guys. Bkool may have to add another server just to handle the EOS's for me.

So........
If I was to get a new indoor trainer to replace the smart pro 2 ( it works and I have no issues) and I'm using a 10 year old bike with sora gears at the moment, would I be better getting a full dedicated watt bike thing ( I can't afford 1) or something else. Thanks

Tough call. I only upgraded because I knew the bike shed was going to be my only vacation this year. My level of riding doesn’t merit it but I sure love it. I just spent another $150 for steering add on.

Ask watt bike man
Macca I think.
They are pretty expensive and in my view are more than a bkooler needs in terms of tech.
Not sure how heavy they are.
Could be better to get a good value direct drive trainer and change your groupset for 105 or higher and perhaps buy or make some kind of front wheel stand like I did.
I would love to go electric on my groupset to trim my rig down to no cables or levers bar a back brake cable with the lever niple set in the cross tube cable stop so I just pull on the cable when I need to stop the back wheel so I don't miss the start or one off the cats is about to jump through the spokes.

I'm not gonna spend watt bike prices and I don't want my pup decapitated on my current set up. Im thinking sell my current trainer bike for spares, give smart pro 2 to sister, get a direct drive thing and chuck my tarmac elite on it

Yeah the new Wattbike is £1900 so pretty lumpy (mine was a few hundred cheaper), I have to say it's pretty convenient - jump on and go with no set-up issues. But a Kickr Core plus a steel/alloy road bike with decent gears could be half the price. There was some chat here on Wattbikes https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/is-a-wattbike-worth-the-money.263779/
I didn't highlight the lower risk of pet decapitation though, there's certainly less external moving parts, just the pedals really. I like mine except for the slow gear-change and the generous power. I'm thinking to go to Poland for a month so might have to get a kickr or something similar there which will be an interesting comparison.
Missed the race tonight as I was shamefully hung over, will defo do the re-run.
