Bit of a silly revenge session this evening. My son (15 years old) also uses the turbo to help build his muscles up for his main activity, athletics. He did an easy session a week or so back and took it easy and some guy added him as an opponent and beat him by a few minutes, well tonight I got my revenge by adding him as an opponent under my sons profile. I know it's wrong, but it felt good.....

Hello!

I'll have to try my hand at that Drumlanrig Castle ride. (Although I think I prefer the streaming video routes than Google Earth generally).

My free trial expired so I'm stuck with the google earth things till I can convince she who must be obeyed that I need the streaming video to train better lol

Hi lads, back to the trainer tyre I know chris has got one but was after some feedback on how much tyre tread comes off them as mine seems to
come off quite a bit and was a little concerned that it seems to go into the bkool machine any thoughts welcome.

There is a fair bit comes off mine , im just useing a normal 27mm old tyre i had . It does gather like black dust around the bkool body , but i give it a wipe after every workout. , looking at the tyre i cant notice any wear on it at all , well perhaps its abit shinyier , as for getting inside the bkool body well as long as you dont let it build up around the metal wheel , i cant see it being a problem , i hope !!

I get a fair bit off mine as well, at least the black dust is gathering. I have left the old cheapo rear tyre on that came with my commuter bike on - I changed the front one for a gatorskin, but will leave the cheapo on the rear until I get back onto the bike for commuting. At which point I'll have to suck it in and just use the gatorskin, as I can't be bothered changing tyres for a trainer ride. (And riding on that smooth tyre is what got me this broken wrist).

Clearly the Wahoo Kickr style design is superior. But they cost a bit more at the moment. (There seems to be some interesting software development going on for them - e.g. http://trainer.kinomap.com).

I have a turbo wheel set up ready to swap over whenever I put the bike on the Bkool. It's just got a tyre that came on the other bike (Hutchinson equinox) and I get very little black stuff on the turbo.

I was lucky on the gold membership, when I registered the two month trial on Boxing Day, they offered me 6 months gold for 1 euro, it seemed rude not to.
