Evening chaps. Having an absolute blast in the Pyrenees. I need to catch up on a few pages here I think! Hope everyone’s in good form.

I can’t put this ride into words in a way that wil ever do it justice. The strava link below might tell some of the story. All day side by side with Berty over three cols. well apart from the second but we won’t talk about that! Bob and Breedon there with us for big chunks of it too. the third is epic. Completely empty the tank rediclous on the limit effort. I don’t think we can go any harder than this!

Frigging hard ride today replicating most of TDF stage 17. Stayed with T and L for the first climb before Lee put the hammer down on Azet. Tommy gave chase only to find Lee doing press ups at the summit:laugh:

On to the unfinished road that is Portet in fierce heat. Lee and tommy pulled away again. Bossing it. Eventually made it to the closed off last 7km and Dean, Andy and I persuaded the workers to let us ride the closed off road. What a ride! Sheep shoot, dark tunnels with more sheep shoot , chip shale surface and descending cloud added to the drama before we reached the summit , somewhat delirious I suspect. A sketchy descent followed as we avoided slipping and falling as well as some scary looking cattle. I had no front brake and a punctured rear tyre we kept pumping full of air. It was comical^_^
Lots of stops up and down for various reasons but these rides are less about time (though it always matters) and more about shared experience, pain and suffering- and sheep shoot. And talking shoot.. it’s time for you to stop now Tommy. If you do I will

I fear it’s too late for both of us to stop talking shite mate... and well, it’s too much fun anyway! The fact we’re on here having a conversation while in the same building probably says all you need to know ^_^

I’d love to be able to remember what was said just before I took this picture, but from the smiles on everyone’s faces it’s definitely nearer the start than the end of a climb.

Great photo!!

Glad you're having such a great time (mixed with an essential bit of pain and suffering!) - some great photos of the scenery on Strava too

And hopefully more, riding was up was hard but with the stunning views and the switch backs made the pain worth it but with ups there's the downs extremely fun on the decents well for me any way  apart from the brown shorts moment

Deans a bit of a tasty descender :okay:

We are talking about 2 possible foreign trips, northern alps in late June or early July and possibly Girona this autumn or next spring. We would likley go with Angus again. Details to follow once we have looked into it.
Randy, if you are touring next year perhaps we could time it so you join us?
