Are you still on the Bkool trainer Paul?
Yes, Paul is still using Bkool pro
Are you still on the Bkool trainer Paul?
Yes but I will need to change it sooner or later so I'll be interested in what you go for! If money was no object I think I'd get a Neo. A slightly cheaper alternative I'm considering is an Elite Direto. Are you still on the Bkool trainer Paul?
My next trainer will be the Neo, I've thought long and hard about it, and while the Kicker is a fine piece of kit and will no doubt be more than good enough for me, I love the fact that the Neo is truly direct drive with no belts or wheels to 'slip' ... although I have heard of someone where the magnet side of things overheated and totally fubard the trainer ... Tacx replaced, no quibble.
Didn't you do the swim before? Or did you The swim and bike?Pembrokeshire is beautiful. You should come down for the Long Course Weekend. Incredibly well supported. It's basically an Ironman event but spread over three days. You do the sea swim on the friday night, the 112 mile bike on the saturday, and run a marathon on the sunday. I'm 'supposed' to be doing it next year...seemed like a good idea after 6 pints!
You can do 1,2 or all the events, whatever you want.....or none...which is probably the most sensible.
The difference between the pro and neo is really noticeable If only for style of riding , I like standing up while trudging up a hill but with the pro the back wheel just kept slipping so I had to either sit or stand so far back I could hardly reach bars , now I have the choice of position with the bonus of knowing pretty much what watts I’m doing - I must admit I have the real feel turned off as it seems like a needless gimmick - it makes wheel vibrate while going over the board walks on ZwiftMy next trainer will be the Neo, I've thought long and hard about it, and while the Kicker is a fine piece of kit and will no doubt be more than good enough for me, I love the fact that the Neo is truly direct drive with no belts or wheels to 'slip' ... although I have heard of someone where the magnet side of things overheated and totally fubard the trainer ... Yes Randy, a couple of years ago I did the swim and then the bike, which went well, as I was pretty fit back then. It’s just the thought of the marathon that makes me wake up screaming in the early hours.Didn't you do the swim before? Or did you The swim and bike?
I’m leaning towards the Neo, I must admit. Just got to sneak it in the back door in a big Dewalt box, then stack garage junk in front of it. Do you think Wiggle would put Dewalt Chopsaw on the invoice?Yes but I will need to change it sooner or later so I'll be interested in what you go for! If money was no object I think I'd get a Neo. Whatever I go for it will definitely be a direct drive trainer
I used to get major slippage on hill climbs on my pro, as I ALWAYS stand and low cadence, high gear, grind out the hills. But since changing my tyre and adjusting position slightly (which I guess isn’t ideal) I’ve managed to completely eradicate it.The difference between the pro and neo is really noticeable If only for style of riding , I like standing up while trudging up a hill but with the pro the back wheel just kept slipping so I had to either sit or stand so far back I could hardly reach bars , now I have the choice of position with the bonus of knowing pretty much what watts I’m doing - I must admit I have the real feel turned off as it seems like a needless gimmick - it makes wheel vibrate while going over the board walks on Zwift
He'll be in deepest darkest Yorkshire. Don't have signal up there, nor electricity!
The missus sent me this link just now. Described it as a fixer upper
I’m not sure it has a roof let alone electricity!
