Enjoyed tonight because for the first time in a long time I didn't constantly feel like I was about to fall off the back. 3 days rest seems to make all the difference.

After the bit where you dropped back for Pete I thought, Bill is up for it, so once Pete was gone and we had 2 km left I tried my hardest to ride you off of my wheel but blew up instead.
Well done Sir!

Yeah - It was me falling off the back again this time. Thanks to you and AAAC for letting me hang on as long as I did :okay:

I'm definitely not getting the fairy dust that I was before, which I'm glad about tbh. Or maybe it is indeed the 'garage effect'

Well done Bill on what looked like another accomplished ride from you.

Thanks chaps but bkool only has a finite amount of fairy dust and I have obviously been handed a chunk of yours. For me it's still a lot to do with the new tyre and using the hrm. I was really struggling before that.

Pah!

I blew up much earlier than that and watched the three of you gradually ease away from me!

Hadn't felt too good today so I wasn't unhappy with the ride. In fact I felt better for doing it. Not up to the power of you guys, but I've had a steady improvement over the last couple of weeks, so I hope that keeps going.

Did anyone else suffer with random riders appearing on the route. I had a couple of guys appearing to ride on the grass at the side of the road. There was also at least one rider I kept passing who seemed to be almost at a stop, who would then come past me, and then come to another stop a km or two up the road. They weren't ghost riders, as they were in a yellow and white Bkool kit, but they had no name and didn't show up on the rider list to the left of the screen. Very odd. Never seen that before on Bkool.

Well done Del - often the rides that we feel best about afterwards are those that we weren't feeling good about before we started!

Yeah - I too passed lots of non-ghosts. I assumed that was because the course was a number of short 'laps' but I'm not sure

It must have been a number of short laps because we also passed one of the bots which was on the start line. Most of those we all passed were probably late starters, but with short laps it's quite common to pass riders who you were with on the start line.

Well I've just completed my first proper workout with the kickr. Very basic z1 8m, z2 25m and back to z1 7m. Very different to a bkool trainer. Power line on the display was at the power level required and only moved down or up 1w momentarily. The requirement to keep the power on or suffer the spiral of doom as the trainer upped the resistance to maintain the power was sudden and extreme compared to the bkool units. I enjoyed it.

Now for a ride up a hill

:blush:Copied to where it was meant to be

Welcome to the club Boxers . Stick with it and you'll get stronger and learn not to ease off to maintain power

That's some dodgy guy with an even dodgier knee ^_^

Good to see you back on the bike Keith. I've seen you picking up the miles on Strava - how's it feeling?
Thx Peter, it's feeling good and much better than I thought at this stage. The physio yesterday was really pleased and pleasantly amazed by my recovery. I'm out of shape after 6 weeks of inactivity, I can't force it when the road goes up and I can't yet get up out of the saddle, which is my preferred climbing style, but both of those things will come in time. April's league is for recovery and hopefully I'll be competitive again by May!
