Funny I'm sleeping realy well due to the amount of exercise I'm doing

I have days where I sleep like a baby from a good workout, but other days especially if I ride early evening, can't sleep with aa racin heart rate

Any reason why you can't use the proper bkool FTP test, 20 minutes at 2%?
None other than trying to kill two birds with one stone. The handicap races are a bit like time trailing, so thought that if I could just eliminate the gear shifts I could get in a good 20 minute effort.
If it doesn't work out, I would rather do the test in Zwift which read the power from my power meter.

Lars I wouldnt worry too much about gear changes, as long it's only a few times. I tend to start with a higher cadence and lower it when I begin to struggle .

Its probably why I prefer 2*8 mins because I can hold the same gear throughout the test

I can supply a replacement threaded shaft if you wish?

Shame really, this motor is 7 dollars but I can find a suitable drive shaft:

I'd like to replace it. I just can't see how to get this one off without damaging the rest of the motor.

If the thread has gone, do you have the corresponding magnet carrier? This is likely to have worn as well
The odd thing is the nut in the carrier travels fairly freely once it is away from the destroyed section. The thread inside the nut looks ok. Because the thread on the shaft has gone the carrier can rise and eventually pull itself to the next section of good thread which is right next to the flywheel. I think a bit of packing where the nut is held in the carrier will stop the deflection of the carrier toward the flywheel and @Randyberlin 's additional nut on the front face of the carrier may give me a working solution.

or I could do this, to arrive Friday

On the Wahoo website you can buy reconditioned Kickrs for about £600 with 1 year warranty if you don't want to buy brand new.
