What kind of head start did you give us? I needed another minute!

I was pretty much going as fast as I wanted to push myself, so I knew you would catch me!

I have an inbuilt limit to how hard I will push, partly because I don't like to over do it but mainly because I don't want to risk another brain haemorrhage!

It really is hard on those long unrelenting 10%+ sections, I noticed I can maintain about 260-270 Watts for the first part, but towards the end I'm struggling to push out 240 Watts on the steeper sections.

I must be getting stronger as I took over 3 minutes off my previous KICKR time. Still not as fast as when on the Bkool trainer though, so when you do the handicap please base it on my KICKR times!

Geoff
That was so hard Geoff. I haven't pushed that hard since I've had this Turbo. I was going to just watch you guys do the hill, but when I saw the pace, I figured I could probably stay with you. But by the time I got socks and shoes on, filled my bottle and got spinning, you were a good 10 minutes ahead of me. So it was all about catching you then. I wasn't that knackered when I tapped out the first time, but it is amazing how much a bit of bloody mindedness, and competitive nature will get you....

Thanks for the company, and pacing me up the first half, a nice steady rhythm made you a pleasure to follow... :bicycle::bicycle:

I was hoping to average 270 Watts for at least the first 30 minutes (would probably have quit and taken the Active 6) but the long steep sections just sapped my strength and the average slowly slipped down to 240.

Geoff

A pleasure for me too Geoff. After yesterdays effort it was just right for me and I wanted to drop off the power even more on the second half. I averaged around 210 watts. Must admit that I always quit and take the next level up if that option is available.

Annoyingly, I was only 4 watts off the next rating. If I'd have known the requirement, I might have been able to reach it...but who knows?
Does it go Active 10 or do you go green?

I began setting Bkool up just before 5 and it showed Alp dUez as already in progress so I jumped in without a warm up. I could see Bill and I think Adski but then they just seemed to stop. I carried on. Wonder if they were bots? Anyway, not a fast time compared to many but now jumped to amateur 5 and happy with that. A real grind though because I couldnt change onto the 28 on the back. Not sure it would have made any difference!

That would be the real Adski but ghost Bill. I saw you soldiering away while I was looking for the ride with Geoff. Well done on your Amateur5 and for getting to the top.

No it goes to Active10 and if you're only 4 watts away now then you probably wont be stuck on 9 for nearly as long as I was. To get pro1 I need to make 335 watts and that's a bit of a struggle to be honest. It'll have to be a very good day before I do that anytime soon. Unless of course the new tyre helps when it comes:smile:

Hey Bob, it was me in that session, but ?I over cooked it, and burnt out, so quit after 30 minutes and took the Active 9 rating. Bill was just one of his old ghosts. I did see you start but just couldn't keep going at that pace.
That was some pace you were going at. You and Bill's bot gave me something to aim for. Must get a fan. I got pretty hot and had to get my youngest son to sprinkle cold water over me to cool me down. He enjoyed that! Off to Amazon to look for one now.

You think you've got problems? For my Active 9, I had to make 334 watts!! Goodness knows what I need to make Pro?!? 345 watts for my 10!!!!!

Yeah, it just gets harder and harder to move up. Don't know how Adam2 does it. Pro8 or something. That must be well over 400watts for 20 mins on the FTP

I don't know how you managed so far without a fan. I would just overheat in minutes.

Well I tried uninstalling bsim, cleaning out the registry and reinstalling to see if that helped with my KICKR problems but no dice ...

I tested it out on the Alpe d'Huez descent and I was able to ride down the -10% gradient at less than 3 mph without brakes, as you can see from the session...

Not much of a simulation, I pedalled at 10 mph and 20 mph and the power figures were exactly the same as on a flat, so I got no benefit from the negative gradient and gravity at all.

When I dropped the watts the speed slowed to zero going down the side of a mountain ...

I'm just going to email Bkool with a link to the session.... I'm a bit fed up as I had just about got used the fact it is harder on the steep climbs, and now I find it is harder on the descents as well! :cursing:
