TheBoxers on Cycle Sim sw
At a very very loose guesstimate bud. Those numbers could be out. Now I’ve broken the seal so to speak, of putting my pride and joy on the turbo. I could do a more controlled test in the velodrome I guess. Just have to wait for a time when I won’t disturb anyone.
IME you get a bigger difference in the Velodrome. I can do 200w on the vectors and have 240 on bsim when riding the velodrome. On a flattish course from
Holland, for example, 200 on the Vectors would be 225 on bsim. On BRVR 200 on the Vectors would be 200-205 in BRVR. Today my avg on my edge was 170 (using the vectors) and BRVR was 175 using the classic trainer.

As much of an ego boost as the numbers bsim supplies can be, I have learnt to take them as a guide only for me.

The good news for me though is I got a improved 20 minute ftp section on the route I did today. I am starting to get back to my level of a year ago.

Tommy I can't figure out your ride. You started really easily, hit some big numbers in the middle section and then looks like you coasted to the line and yet put in a very impressive time.

That’s not how it played out with the watts being shown on the screen Andy but it might explain how I got such a fast time. I’m on my phone and not the best at reading the stats anyways... but when I set off I was pushing 600w+ for a while I believe so not sure why it shows me coasting. In the middle section I would say my power went up and down really. The only time I coasted really was when I put a message up here to question whether I had the right course. Then I suppose it was downhill for a long section near the end where I would have eased off too.

But yeah, strange... it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if I got the fairy dust. As soon as I saw the other times I’d be seriously deluded to think it wasn’t a possibility! But odd if what your looking at suggests I wasn’t putting out power from the start? There’s a small hill a couple of km’s in I believe and bumps there after, which may explain if there was a power spike.

Regarding you joining in, do it mate!! It’s a great laugh and it would be like old times with you on BKOOL!

I think my in law still has a Bkool pro,. I don't know if he uses it

Would I be let into the playground to play, when is it, qualification and actually races, assuming I could qualify?
Of course mate you'd be more than welcome to join in. The event itself is in the morning of Saturday 17th Feb. The qualifying league is taking place throughout January - live races at the usual times of 7pm Thursday and 5pm Saturday. But you can ride the stages whenever you like while the league is running. Bkool has a problem with league setup at the moment so to do the first stage - Stouby Sejet - just challenge someone elses ride and let us know your time on here and Keith will update his spreadsheet

Just a quick clarification. You can't challange my time as I'm ineligible to make the team. Sorry.
Edit. I could have led you to a 41 minute finish.

Andy, are you looking at the ride on Strava? Because the warm up and warm down are included in the Strava ride so that might explain why it looks like he was coasting at the start and at the end?

Yes I'm looking at Strava. Can I look at Tom's ride via Bkool without premium? Will look

When Bkool first came out DCRainmaker did an in depth review of the first trainer and simulator software and compared bkool watts with a power meter several times and found it to be remarkably accurate. Bkool clearly tinkered with something subsequently which has led to the big discrepancies we now see. It's one of the frustrations with bkool as a company that they don't do anything about it because it's clearly possible to change the algorithm in some way to make it more accurate - eg it's not perfect on zwift but it's way more accurate when aĺl is working properly

if i was to set the pro up and go on bkool , could i have a go without the subscription ? is it possible to do it

I can still see the NC league, doubt I could race with others without a monthly subscription

I tried that. They said I’d already had my 30 day free trial. They ain’t that silly after all!

But you can use my account Lee. We’re putting results in a table manually so you’d just have to change the weight. Same goes for you Andy.

Or you could just look behind the sofa for loose change. It’s only £8!
