Ahh.. ok, thanks Bill. That explains a lot and will if you don't mind, I can use this post to explain to HiD why I'm googling prism shaped glasses? Nothing yet, perhaps it's an American thing? I'll try USA EBAY.

Do I need to have a giant calculator on my bar stem and if so, have you any suggestions where I should place my Garmin?

If I get these, will I be as good as @AAAC 76C? I've got wine in and if pushed, I can stay up late on Friday nights..

What's the calculator for?

I believe that's a 'blackberry' style mobile phone Jim. It gives AAAC the chance to relax and catch up on his emails and plan his calender etc while he's waiting for everyone else to catch up :okay:

Thank you Sir and very well done today - outstanding ride and averages..

I guessed it was something similar.. does he use it to crunch the deficits on Pep?

I think that's what he was doing yesterday while he was towing me in SC stage 2 :addict:

It's a crazy fast route, if you get good condition s, early start and decent pack to draft with. Still you need to have the legs to pedal at 20+mph for 5hours or less. He is a whipper snapper :biggrin:

Yeah, he is Andy. He also had the benefit of a testing training ride to Brighton with me a few weeks back :biggrin:

So far he has ridden an hour faster than anyone else I know riding the course today:notworthy:

To be honest I'm a little disappointed with the time.

Andy's right it should be a pretty quick course. It was wet roads when I set off, someone stacked it right in front of me virtually out of the gate, so it put the frighteners up me a little...

Then I just couldn't get in a good group for any length of time. Either guys were going much faster than I wanted to or too slowly. I didn't take a rest break until mile 50 and I still felt pretty fresh. I'd planned to get through the Surrey hills then take another brake. But in the back end of the hills I got in a really nice group. We worked together for a while and the pace suited me nicely. The trouble with this was I didn't want to leave the group to take a rest brake... with about 20 miles to go I could tell everyone started to smell the finish line as the pace quickened noticeably. I found myself at the front burning through energy, and I stayed out there way too long. When I dropped off I got spat out of the back sharpish and my legs were cursing me for not tacking that second brake. One stop for 100 miles isn't enough for me. So I died a slow death from that point on.

To put it into context a guy who does laps of Regent's Park put in a time around 15 mins faster than me for 150w average where I avareaged 211w. If he's lighter than me it isn't by much.

I'm pretty tired so I'm being a little negative but I definitely have unfinished buisiness with that course!

What did we say, don't go on the front of the pack! Don't beat yourself up Tommy, to average 20mph is a magnificent achievement over 100 miles.

To put in context a couple of club mates did a fast flat circular Time trial 100 in 4hrs 45 mins. Time trial bikes 10 miles pan flat repeated loop. So your time is fantastic:okay:
You should be:wahhey::dance:

We are:notworthy::cheers:.

I'll raise a glass of Venician(sp) wine tonight :bravo:

I had noticed I was getting a neck ache which was down to the height of the TV and my glasses slipping down my nose a bit when on the Turbo. I experimented by turning my glasses upsidedown and it was much better so the end solution was to raise my bars a couple of inches and fit the above handlebar setup.
Only downside is now my hips have rotated up this increasing the width of my sitbone pressure points so I may need a wider saddle.
Try something like this

The one I use is fine for thin wire like glasses arms. At £2 delivered they're woth a punt (sorry these sre not the onesI got, mine had no delivery charge. Do some digging). If they are too loose just run a line of stitching along the holder section to narrow it down. I did that when I used to go skiing.
