You can now get a bkool pro 2, it comes with yellow bits, looks like they're moving away from bad ass black ;)

Bkool Smart Pro 2, the evolution

The second generation of the Bkool Smart Pro, the best-selling smart trainer. Now quieter than CXRAndy's fan, but still noisier than a jumbo jet!

features-pro.jpg

Powerful
Can reach up to 1,200 W."
Simulates slopes of up to 20%"
Please remember though that these are 'bkool watts', and bear no relation to actual watts, or anything at all to be honest...

Inertia
Bkool trainers are the only ones that simulate inertia. Smart adjustments on slopes.

Also included is our exclusive 'deadstop' feature! We'd tell you more but that would spoil the surprise, and we spend all our time pretending it doesn't exist anyway! :secret:

Super stable
Their design, with telescoping legs, ensures stability at all times, even during the most intense sprints.

We take great pride in our design skills. That's why we've focussed all of our energy on re-designing the same piece of sh!t unit 3 times instead of actually doing anything to improve the platform!

Plug & Play
No assembly or calibration required. The wheel adjusts to the hub.

Calibration is completely overrated anyhoot right?!

Silent
Noise level: 75 dB at 30 kph. A conversation ranges from 40 to 80 dB.

To be honest anything's an improvement on our last unit. Which gave you all the confidence of having Stevie Wonder flying you home from your summer holidays!

Light and compact
Folding swing arm and weight of under 12 kg. Disassembly into two pieces.

Ideal for when you're finally ready cut your losses and dump it in the bin

I think if you look at the 2016 Summer cup results, you'll see that that's not the case.

Bill I can't access old summer cups leagues. I remember a few Kickr users including me. One guy was immensely strong regularly producing high 300's to mid 400 watts with a decent w/kg(comparable to Aaac) but he was minutes down on the leaders on everything except the super short legs. This year there are hardly any non Bkool units. Those who do have a different trainer are producing decent numbers but are out of position compared to those with similar numbers.

I was in a convenient position to have use of both Bkool pro and Kickr. There is about a 50 watt over read of power with a Bkool unit and 1.5-2mph average speed increase over other trainers. I put this down to way Bkool records the data. My graphs were always alot more jagged on my kickr and alot smoother with the Bkool pro. This is where the speed difference lay. I wasn't overly concerned about the 50 watt over read, except when I tried to use those numbers outside and could never attain them.

You see quite a few of those who use power meters have made the same comments has mine. LBH, Bob, Dean, Kipsters, Rick and me. Tommy will have to try and do the watopia climb on his Bkool pro unit at maximum threshold and then try and do it on Zwift trying to hold the same power with his power meter whilst using Bkool pro as a dumb resistance unit. I suspect he can't sustain the effort.

Bkool is a great platform for Bkool units

What Jeff said :okay:
Bob and JLaw, I'm already a Zwift member as well, but my standard rig includes a 32bit Win 7 pc, and Zwift stopped working on 32bit pc's some time ago.

I could snatch the wife's laptop but I need a more permanent solution. Currently investigating the best way to go: Win upgrade vs new pc. Think there's enough juice in the old Intel Core to justify an upgrade.

:stop:That was very naughty Tommy and bound to get you into trouble with bkool. Probably a good time to get an accurate turbo?
^_^

That's pretty tame compared to some of the emails I've sent them!

The accuracy thing's never really bothered me in all honesty mate. I can use my power meter in the real world or bkools guessameter. So long as I can measure my effort it's all good really. The noise of the turbo is a factor. And the company attitude is a factor...

But if the guys that I'm trying to catch every week are still on bkool then it's hard from me to walk away from. As that motivates me / improves my fitness more than anything else I do.

I'm not very complicated as is probably obvious to you lot by now!... If we could create a league on zwift. Closed roads, no gimmicky power ups etc. And all the guys with targets on their backs from bkool jumped over, then I'd join up. But alternatively it could be a good winter on bkool. Seems like Steve and Whorty amongst the other regulars are going to push me very hard, and I'll be trying to catch the guys in front of me as always...

Tommy, we have chatted about this so i understand your position. You know mine about giving money to a company that apparently holds its users in contempt. It's pretty brazen too. At the end of the day though if you have a bkool unit one balances that against lots of the things you have mentioned and I can see how you have come to your decision. It's pretty powerful watching Whorty and others improve whatever the medium and racing with them is quite a carrot. In the meantime I look forward to bkool surprising me with PM implementation or an accurate fec profile. Outside of that though they won't get another penny of my money. I would rather give it to RGT or BRVR.
Serious face off;
When you get fed up of laps of Regent's Park let me know and I will take you on a challenging tour of the Kent Lanes with a power up and a pretty decent caf in Westrrham.

There's a link to Zwift analyser or something that will tell you how it will run- try there to get an idea? Also, weren't Microsoft given out free upgrades at some point? It may have stopped
