Whorty quote:
I've just sorted out a few things that have clearly helped.
1. Brakes were out and rubbing, so I was effectively riding on breaks
2. Tyre pressure was very low (45 psi) but now 100 psi
3. The asthma 'fix'. I no longer struggle with breathing when I'm on Bkool which is making a massive difference
4. The DD training is paying off :wahhey:
5. Drug use:notworthy:
It's a TUE, honest  Been signed off by the UCI

That last 20 does make a difference.
100 was rock hard and I was nervous about a puncture if too high. I might try a little firmer if I can be brave enough

Think about it, if you have a road tyre that can be inflated up to 130 PSI that means it can withstand road shocks like holes, bumps and bunny hops.
On a turbo the loading is far more constant with very little impact. Add more pressure and the resistance will fall and create less heat hence less stress.
We should in fact all be using track tyres and running 160 psi but then your traction will suffer.

Traction only suffers on over about 7 or 8 % slopes in my experience.

I have just spotted that we have exactly the same time! I should have added your ghost to my ride and I could have drafted you and pipped you at the line  Not sure if I'll do the re-run yet ... I'm not really fit enough to do 2 races on consecutive days :heat: Let's play it by ear and see how we both feel tomorrow afternoon :okay: although if we are racing together you'll beat me easily as you're much stronger than me as we saw on the velo Wednesday :notworthy:

@BILL S - I think my ride might need to be released as it's not hit the league yet. Cheers. :okay:
Sorry Whorty. No sign of your ride. Must be lost in Bkool.

It must be a truly fantastic feeling to see the difference that properly functioning lungs , non catching brakes and fully inflated tyres can make
It must be like taking the handbrake off a moving car !!
Couple that with the time and effort you have been putting in while being held back that must have built body up
I think the chequered flag awaits mate !!
