Killed myself catching up with Brushguard and had a rest followed by a final dig over the last few km.

I did try dragging JIm with me, so had a short rest there as well, but he was not playing!

Hmm, there I was, pedalling slowly, waiting for you to catch up, and when you finally did, you soon after just left me in the dirt, sprinting away into the sunset. I would have played with you at the last km, as Bill was not around today. ;-)

All my May Bkool sessions have been sub-standard, so for today I changed back to using an old outdoor tyre, instead of the Schwalbe Insider I've been using since the start of May. Today's effort was not an all-out effort, but still I managed an average of 288W (3,5/kg - Active 6 level). Most of last months races were below 240 average, which I found really strange as I rode around 2.300 km in-/outdoor in April and May combined, and I felt pretty fit (for my standard). My guess is, the tyre does all the difference!

Anyway, this may be my last Bkool session this side of October, when the indoor season starts again. Have a nice summer, and see you then! ;-)

LIVING THE DREAM
Earlier I did some work in the garden and had a really nasty dizzy spell. I had to lie down or I'd have fallen over. It was a bit scary TBH but had no other sensations apart from the lack of blood flowing to my head. Had an hour to recover before the ride so was feeling fairly normal by 7pm. Was curious to know if it was a one off, but it turned out that it wasn't. As soon as I started to feel faint again I stopped. Hopefully just a strange turn and back in action on Saturday.

Bill you don't per chance have a stash of 100 year Single Malt in the garden shed do you?

More seriously, could be heat exhaustion but whatever it is take care.
I get a bit dizzy occasionally when I stand up if my HR is down as my lowest resting rate.
I also get the very occasional mini angina type feeling after exercise but have not had one of those for ages.

I'm guessing it is probably de-hydration coupled with a bit of exhaustion.

Whatever you do don't google the symptoms otherwise you may think you are dead already.

Just in case though PM me your address and if the worst comes to the worst I'll come and take all your bike stuff off of your wife's hands.
No need to thank me in advance that's just the sort of guy I am!

My HR stayed unusually high tonight as well - maybe the heat, I don't know?

No heat problems up here today, it's been pouring down most of the day... my body was trying to digest food whilst trying to deliver oxygen to my legs.. who's a silly boy then?

I'll have another go at CG1 another day. Can't do Saturday as I'm Sportiving again at Ochil...

Sylt? If you mean the small German island, I was actually on vacation just nearby this past weekend and even visited the Danish island Roemoe, from where you can take the ferry to Sylt. I did around 300 km on my bike those 4 days, including a 130 km ride home at around 36km/h average. :-) Almost perfect tailwind all the way. :-)

Could be an electrolyte inblance?
I would suffer very similar symptoms if i was painting the bottom of a door frame then stand up and rise my hands above my head i would "grey out" almost to the point of passing out, but also standing up to quick would be the same.
So now i take electrolyte tables after a ride and im fine now or if im feeling light headed i take a tablet.
Hope that's it and nothing sinister.

Always assumed it was Danish as it sits mainly North of Flensburg.
Famous for it's nudist beaches I understand, never be there myself not even when I was going out with a lass in Schleswig (not).
Interesting to see its quite near a Danish town with a name that looks like 'Tinder'.

When that happens to me I just shout "Simple Simon says!" just to distract my brains attention from the symptoms.

Also consuming electrolytes can be very dangerous.
Always make sure the batteries are removed first.

There is however a simpler solution for you Breedon, just don't paint door frames but if you do have too tie bits of string from your wrists to your ankles to stop you raising your arms too high.

I assume that you avoid Mexican Waves as well,.
Who would have thought that they could be so dangerous.
