Well I hope it's a big fat knobbly one, that's half deflated and put on wonky..... actually, I don't hope for any of that, as it will just be even more humiliating when you kick my ass on a clown bike!

Well its a Continental Ultra Sport slick at 120psi, changed out early because I'm sure I spend more time worrying about getting my ass kicked these days than you do. Hmmm what dastardly tricks could I get up to for gaining advantage??
Like Geoff last week starting the race early so I got left on the line

The 1 review on it does not hold out much luck though.
You may be right.I ordered this on the 7th and that review went on the 14th. I just uploaded the video and it is very shaky.I may need to get one with image stabilization. Plus how do Paul and Geoff keep theirs so steady going up hills? Mine rocks so bad it's enough to make you seasick.

Hey everyone, what are folks using for the BKool simulator? I have an iPad 2, but the video frame rate is low, extremely choppy and low quality compression. Wondering if I need to run this off a computer or a newer tablet?

Well, I think Geoff secretly works for GCHQ, our UK equivalent of the NSA. So he probably has all sorts of gimbles, gyroscopes and space age stabilising equipment that he also uses in his day to day James Bond role. But it does also mean that he could tell you, but then he would have to kill you! I'm quite sure that this whole "staying in a hotel" ruse, is part of his job. He is probably in Moscow, working towards a oeaceful solution to the Ukraine crisis. Have you seen Mr and Mrs Smith? Although it wouldn't surprise me at all if Geoff's wife was the spitting image of Angelina Jolie, I fear Geoff might fall a little short of Brad Pitts chiselled good looks! I am half expecting a drone strike on my house at any moment, for blowing his cover!

I have a GArmin Virb Elite and cant fault it, on the road bike and CX bike i have Jb welded a mount to the base of my Garmin out front mount so it easily fits out the way and can be operated very easily (i just use the 180 flip falicity in the editor). On my MTB i use a standard bar mount and also a helmet, the geat thing with Virb is the versatility and also the ability to add the gps data. Heres a few vids:

I like the fact the speedo doesnt lie so you cant be accused of 'tampering' with the video

Sorry I can't really give a definitive answer on this one but it think most guys are using computers to run theirs.

An iPad 2 might just be too old for the job. a lot of us use a wired connection rather than wifi as it's quite unstable with bkool resulting in losing connection mid ride too often. It does attempt to reconnect you since the last update though which is a big improvement.

I started with an ipad and had utter nightmare, nice idea but not good enough to cope with 3d vids

I fixed mine to the front grill of my car using the helmet mount, and drove at cycling speed, which is a bit stressful! This is how bkool recommend, as it does rock mounted on the cycle. In summer I will try and borrow our kids motorbike and take a load of vids.

Tried iPad Air and it was rubbish, old laptop was very bad at 3d so ended up with decent pc and whizzy graphics card on 4k TV and 3d is great at 3840x2160 ultra hd! :okay:

Also pc allowed use of powerline adapters to avoid wifi.

Does it make me a bad person that while my mrs is looking for new houses based on schools, ameteties etc, mine is purely based on high speed broadband and a double garage and/ or loft conversion for the ultimate man cave

Going to have a crack at Colle del Moncinesio, the Goat's stage 3 run. I'll be logging on around 6:30pm if anyone wants to come and watch me die on my arse. I'll do a 5 minute warm up in case there are any other nutters out there that want some company whilst they suffer death by BKool! Feel free to join me, but it could get messy. I will be turning my mike off as I'm quite sure no one here wishes to hear the raw expletives I will be gasping after an hour and a half. And as for you Bill, I just hope we can still be friends after this, but I'll be honest, I'm going to find that difficult.

We ended up with a compromise where my Mrs took over the house but I took over the garden shed and the unconverted loft. The shed is now full of bikes, bike parts, tools etc and the unconverted loft is now boarded over, power sockets and lighting, full of bikes and my bkool. Wife wants the loft to be properly converted as living space but I know of many technical reasons that would make that impossible ;)

LOL love it!!!! This is the type of thing that makes having a bkool and being a Mountain Goat really worth while. I don't know if I was just having an off day when I did Moncenisio but I ended up not caring what my time was and just wanted to get to the top so I could stop. Haha "Death by Bkool"?? Yeah its almost like you're up Everest in the "death Zone" (Not that I've ever been up there) and you've totally lost the will to go on . Having said that, I'll probably do Moncenisio again one day. Once I've forgotten......

Anyway, that's probably the best moral support I can give you at this point but if I can think of anything better before 6:30 I'll be sure to post it :laugh:

Enjoy Adam ... I'll be on my bkool tonight but as I won't be on it nearly as long as you I'll see if I can't log in to see how you're getting on. Anyway, I think I owe you a comment or two ;)
