Don't worry if you can't do the course to set a time, I can estimate you a Handicap.

Since you're fitness level active 8, if we do the Handicap Team Time Trial I could just put you in the Middle Team.

If we do an individual Handicap chase it's a bit harder, so your handicap may be a bit out to start with, I tend to err on the side of caution and try to avoid someone winning by miles, I'd rather be unfair to one person than to everyone else, if you see what I mean!

So far we are looking close to having enough for Teams, I have yes from

@AAAC 76C @bridgy @TurboTommy @BILL S @Daddy Pig @Cliff Matthews @peterob @Goldwolfie @Jim Brown @rob01792

Can anyone else make it? It would be good to get >12 riders

Cheers,

Geoff

Geoff, chaps, I'm out I'm afraid... sorry about that. I've got a meeting at 6 so it's unlikely I'll get back in time

@Whorty is bang on, 39:16 is a very fast time, well done. You'll certainly be a solid prospect for the Red Team, if we can get a Team Time Trial together.

I have scheduled another month of the usual Handicaps, if we can get enough for 3 Teams then happy to do that, otherwise I think we should just drop back to the usual Handicap chase. Come April or May, perhaps we should go back to the wieght Handicaps, as outside riding becomes more popular?

So who is up for this Tuesday's (7pm) Handicap?

Geoff
It's a sorry no from me I'm afraid.

I'm only Active 9 so I should be in the middle group as well...

I noticed that, and thought about it, but your times are in the 36's, which is faster than Tommy and Andy and Bill have managed.

I guess the fitness level is based on watts/kg and none of the Handicap sessions are pure climbs, so it doesn't really work for heavier than average riders (or lighter), only those somewhere in the middle.

I really need a fitness level and a weight. The higher the weight, the more should be added to the fitness level to reflect the higher sustained watts on flatter sections, and the faster descents. The lighter riders should have the fitness level reduces similarly.

absolute pain how many of us are runing old emails which might be dropped probably a good few of us I'm more annoyed about the data of the rides only been cycling about 18 months and bought the bkool straight from the start and refer back to see progress

They should have indexed the accounts from Globally Unique User IDs (GUID) and use the email address as a textual link to the GUID, so the email address can be changed without requiring any change to the associated data, all of which refers to the GUID!

I learnt this in about 1986 as a trainee programmer, the hard way...

Can any of you more technically minded types help me? My Bkool pro has just started making odd noises - and sending a vibration back up through the bike. On top of that, it felt really hard work - like cycling through treacle.

I have taken the cover off to have a look inside but can't see anything obviously wrong and it seems to roll smoothly enough when pushed by hand. Anything I should be looking for????

If you spin up the flywheel by riding fast then get off the bike quickly, lift the tyre away from the roller does the noise vibration completely disappear?

Simple is what I did today. I had a vibration appear yesterday. Looking at it today I saw a lump of rubber, smaller than a 5p in diameter and not think, that had built up on the rollor. Removing it cleared the vibration.

Owwww that theres gone and made it harder to sit down again. 1 hr 35 today. A nice trundle down to Bilbao tomorrow. Then a cold beer wednesday. :okay:
That Bilboa ride is nasty. Deadstops everywhere, a real PITA. I second i'm 2 mins up on riders, the next they're flying past me. Couldn't be bothered to do the last hill as I knew every would just fly up there and leave me for dead! Generally a good work out though, although I didn't see Jim after the start; don't know if he had problems??
