I just ordered a Wahoo KICKR, should arrive tomorrow! I hope it lives up to it's promises, as it's quite an investment ...

A friend was asking me which trainer to buy to use bkool, and I said either the Pro or the KICKR, and that I sometimes wished I'd bought the KICKR. He then immediately offered to buy my Pro off me, leaving me to explain to the missus why an even more expensive bit of kit was on it's way. To her credit, she took it well! I think she likes her new fit('ish), sporty hubby! ^_^

Interestingly, Bkool look to have put up the price of the trainers, probably because of the Euro's falls. Now showing at £469 on their web shop (or £480 in instalments). Doesn't seem to have filtered through to the UK online sites yet.

I'm a little concerned that the resistance may prove to be harder on some of the steep gradients, in which case I'll be getting familiar with the back of the pack!

We may find out tomorrow evening?

Geoff
ill be your Domestique if you fall to the back of the pack

When i got my Bkool i reassured the mrs that i got a good deal due to my Wiggle Platinum membership (which is a good reduction) but what she hasnt connected the dots on is how exactly you achieve that platinum status.....:secret:

Not Bkool related, but got home to a 'congratulations you're in' magazine for the pru ride 100, first time in 3 attempts. Also booked Velothon Wales as a backup, so a couple of rides to look forwards to.

Well for F$%@£&?%#¥S SAKE!!!!!! Would you bloody believe it, my BSim just crashed with 38 f***ing seconds of Huez to go! My HRM was showing 192, highest yet, and I was 8 seconds ahead of Luigi or whoever I challenged. Had it in the bag, not my fastest, but a credible time.....and now....NO SIGN OF IT! BSim shut down, fatal error or something.....to say I am annoyed is putting it very mildly.

Forgive my language guys, do apologise, but I just gave my ALL into that league run, and its gone. Time is running out to get a good time in now, and I can't believe I have to do another one!

And as for you Geoff...... I am sooooo jealous. Let me know if it rocks, and if it does, ask your friend if he needs two BKool Pro's.

Going to bed now, to cry myself to sleep! If nothing else, I have sweated the majority of Amsterdam indulgences out!

The external leaderboard/challenge thing i think is worth ignoring from my short time on Bkool, the real value is in the closed leagues where you can interact.

Can't really join a league at the moment due to arthritis in left hip. Was supposed to be having replacement op on Friday, but they've put it back now to Friday 13th, would you believe.
I'll probably apply to join one of the leagues you guys have set up when I recover...hopefully.

Oh yes, and the icing on the cake, wife got a place in the Prudential Ride London ballot today, and I got a 'commiserations' magazine! And now she's saying she might not do it because it is 2 weeks after her Iron Man!! :cursing:

Gutted for you!

I also started up Huez tonight to try and get under the hour. I thought I would try using Mark's ghost to pace me to beat the hour, but couldn't keep up with him right from the start, and at half way I was on the exact same pace as last time (1hr 2 mins) so I packed it in and had a go at Cothelstone to put a time in for the league ahead of tomorrows group ride.

I just managed to improve slightly on our ride last week. It's quite a short but intensive ride, so tomorrow should be fun.

I'm hoping to do tomorrow's ride on the KICKR, assuming it works out of the box, so I thought it would be interesting to see if I could get a good time on the bkool to compare them.

I also got a "commiserations" magazine today, I did think of trying for a charity place, but I think I'll just look for something closer to home.

I'm got my first Sportive to look forward to this year (Exmouth Ex-terminator), bring on them hills pffft :cycle:

All that practice up Salcombe Hill should come in handy! What route are you looking to do?

Even the short one has some serious climbs in the first half.
I trained up for the middle, 60 mile, one last year, did just about the entire course in two bits, but then didn't manage to do the event.

A group of us are entered for Watchet to West Bay again this May, it will be interesting to see if my bkool training improves my pace from two years ago (last year I was just out of hospital and taking it easy).

Yes i'll be fine on the hills, I do them around here already anyway so will just be stronger after using Bkool hopefully.
I'm doing the Epic, Dist: 93 Miles, Elev. Gain: 7365 ft, Rating: 4/5 ^_^

That is a nightmare Adam, and its the second one you've done for this league stage that hasn't shown up. Hopefully just a one off fatal error and in a few days time you'll have forgotten the frustration. Hope you get a chance to ride the stage. I'll approve it if its late so no worries there.
