Ah, maybe too much to do both then - stage 8 doesn't look that steep on the profile on bkool but that does explain the much slower speeds than stage 9!

I'd still probably want to do more than just stage 9 personally though as it only took 13 minutes
If I can make it tomorrow maybe we team up and try and get a superfast time?

Got the email DP 39 seconds well done, worth another shot at it but at a later date.

I cant believe it either as you caught me up and went 10s in the lead but you slowed your pace right down which let me catch you and get away. I found that stage pretty relentless...

I must admit I did rest as i found it quite a slog and tough going, but if i add your ghost it will give me something to gun for but i would need to rest for a couple of days to put a dent in that time soon as ive done my commutes i'll give it a go.

A slightly faster ride downhill would cut off 20 seconds as well. TBH you will destroy my time on the hills, it's trying to leave enough in the tank for later that's the tough bit.

This sounds like an excellent plan. Would you be okay with us doing stage 9 first then stage 8 second?
Something along the lines of 10 min warmup, Stage 9, 5 min break, 10 min warmup, stage 8.
I'm guessing stage 9 is the one that most haven't done (including me) so would like to be fresh for that one.

I'm happy to go with a vote on which we do first, and would certainly like to improve on my stage 8 time so don't really mind which we do first.
Sounds good to me Bill - I don't mind at all which we do first, but stage 9 first might also be a good idea because it sounds like the less tiring of the two!

I really like Bkool it's brought a lot of enjoyment to turbo training and introduced me to you fine folks however, a large part of the enjoyment for me is to be able to upload my local rides (or other .gpx routes) and have them converted to 3D. It's just better than map route.. over recent weeks Bkool hasn't been accepting my uploads - either manually or from my Garmin, and for quite some time, they haven't been converting to 3D. Anyway, I decided to send Bkool a message to ask them when it was going to be fixed... the reply I received was nothing short of bullshento.. for your delectation I herewith share with you Bkool's response.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your message. To get a track converted to 3D, it must be shorter than 60 km, up to 15% slope and have consistent gradients.

See you at Bkool,

That's it, the full response, Bkool customer service at its best..

I responded with examples of routes I had completed that had been converted to 3D in excess of 60km and included a route that was pan flat, under 60k and wasn't converted.

I haven't received a response..

I don't think it will stop me re-newing my subscription in April but it's bloody annoying the way they bullsh1t.... two emails in two days both talking ballx... sorry, I'm really vexed....

In the meantime I still await last nights TTT to be 'processed' ..

Rant over... I'll get mi coat...
Jim, I feel your pain - I've had similar stupid replies from Bkool myself! All I would say is try being patient and keep on at them and you might eventually get a coherent response or a resolution of the problem. It took me about 10 replies back and forth to them once to get them to acknowledge an issue, but they did resolve it in the end!

Let's not forget though, this is the company that claimed their trainer would never max out on resistance whatever a rider's weight, and blocked Rick from a Facebook discussion for suggesting otherwise!

In brighter news I got into the ridelondon event at the 5th attempt! Really really chuffed about it to be honest. Did anyone else enter/get in?

Congrats TT! I envy you. 3rd or it it 4th attempt for me and another rejection. It seems so personal! I have been ranting about it with others and we will do what friends have done-that is ride it or at least the Surrey Hills bit once the roads are closed at 4am. Seems lots did it last year.
Anyway, I have the long sleeve top which came in the post today and anyone is welcome to it if they will cover postage:okay:

Did WC S7 today.
Not a lot to say but pap! 29 minutes plus.
I thought a few days off of the bike would get the wood out of my legs.
So off I set today to ride against Bridgy's ghosts and a host of others that must have been in his ride.
I didn't get to do that session because I couldn't get it to show high enough in my list of league rides for the 8th.
Tried setting it for the 7th and no surprise it disappeared.
I joined one another on instead.
Felt great warming up, new wheel, new tyre and well rested legs.
Got into the session and the legs felt sluggish again and by halfway I had 'that feeling in my chest' that is a bit of a warning.
It is then that I realised that my HR was not going above 152 even though I was digging as hard as I could.
The penny the dropped in that the wooden legs are probably down to a poorly performing ticker.
I backed of at this point, having already been caught buy a red hat, until the chest felt better as there was no point in slamming to a halt as this would probably have a worse effect.
Well the tightness went so I racked it up again as best as I could and the HR got up to 158 but no way was I flying and would never have been a match for Bridgy and quite a few others who would have been in my intended ride.
I have a couple of theories one of which is the Lime Juice I have been drinking with hot water instead of caffeine drinks as there is a possibility it is interacting with my satins.
I will have a word with the quack.
Good news is that the water works is a lot happier with my caffeine intake reduction.
Another theory is that one of you has sent someone round to put glue on my tyres but unless they were about between 5 and 6 this evening after I fitted a tyre bought today and fitted it at 5 then that's probably not it.
Final theory is that my decline has started or I just need a couple of weeks break but with Jacobs Cup on the way that is not an option.

My ride is in the grey ether eluded to by BKool in 'My Activity'.
I have never noticed this before with a 'lost ride', is this new.
Anyway the total time shows as 44:24 so taking off 15 minutes for warm up and down that makes me 29:24, just good enough fro one place above BillS (there is another Bill in the League).

Cheers Bob. I know what you mean about taking it personally. Because the application form asks some quite detailed questions you can't help but think it's a personal judgement. For what it's worth this year I claimed I'd be able to do the course in 4 & a 1/2 hours and also said I'd done a few of the other events on the tick list. If I hadn't of got in a may well of joined you early doors. It's probably far more civilised than the carnage that'll ensue later in the day!

Sorry to hear that AAAC - I think we've all experienced similar from time to time. I find it so hard to tell in circumstances like that whether it's me or the trainer that's acting differently!

A few days complete rest often does me the world of good - I definitely intend being well rested before the Nations Cup races

Get yourself to the docs and get ad ecg. See if they can do whilst the body is under stress (they stick you on a bike or running machine and wire you up). Don't overdo it until you have the all clear as you may be making something potentially much more serious.

It's a great event you'll love it, I did it a couple of years ago. Not living in London meant trying to find a hotel not too far from the start, with food and everything else the cost soon racked up. The waking up at 4am to get to the start didn't suit me at all, especially as the hotel didn't start breakfast so a couple of tubs of porridge to go was eaten, again at 4am it was a struggle to keep down. I didn't enter this year as the faff was too much. I might try again next year when I've forgotten about the faff.

The warning sign is the onset of angina.
I already have heart disease DP so it does not surprise me to get the odd episode.
Last time I did what the GP suggested I went to A&E and they diagnosed indigestion.
Forgive me therefore if I seem reluctant to see my GP.
The only thing he ever seems to do is stick his finger somewhere and I'm getting a little tired of that or tell me I seem perfectly heaithy and how amazed he is how well I have come on in fitness since having stents fitted.
I will then have a range of blood tests which will all come back as normal.

Edit: My work colleague had one a couple of years back and they have done away with treadmill and just inject you with a drug that induces the same results.
