Have your rides uploaded? I'm planning the alp d'heux tonight but not keen to bleed out my eyes to get no upload!

Group ride tonight, are you joining us?
Last ride of this month's league, hoping for a good turn out! :hyper:

Tonight's ride is a 12 mile Moderate session, starting with a fairly flat 3 miles, ideal for forming a peloton. There's a couple of moderate climbs (12% max) and descents and a flat sprint for the line!

Will aim to start warm up at usual 7:00 pm and race start around 7:09 pm, look for Ponferrada 2014 - Fondo Élite Masculino, Thursday Night CC Jan Wk5 and/or Geoff!

If I'm not on the start line, you've got the wrong session! ^_^

Cheers,

Geoff

Yes i will be, ill do the Alp D'Heux after (or not!)

Can you shed any light on starting tips, if you recall on tues i was left on the start line because the turbo was winding down.

I was home last nigt so picked up a big screen with a 3m hdmi which means the laptop can sit next to the trainer, i also swapped bikes so will run my stages PM on garmin

When in the warm up, just stop pedalling about 30 seconds before the end of warm up to allow the bkool to wind down and settle on zero. Don't turn the pedals at all until the session has started. I always give it a second or two after the countdown just to be sure!

Found it!, from Nate himself who to be fair, is very factual in the detail he gives about any upcoming development on his system

EDIT: for clarity, thats not me asking him in the thread

Quite worrying that he mentions that he isn't sure if it's coming to the older models. I've asked bkool for clarification that the classic will still receive the same updates that the pro will otherwise they can swap it for me

I just sent this to Bkool regarding the non showing league rides:

"I have set up a league which is current. Yesterday 28.01.15 both myself and another in the group The Mountain Goats rode the first stage in the league "Mountain Goats 2" but our rides do not show up. The other riders name is Adski . The group has over 25 members and I don't want the members to do the rides and not have them count for the league. I am the admin of the group. There may have been some league set up problems as the session perhaps had some duplication but I think that the rides should show up anyway. Can you perhaps fix this for us? Both the League itself and the non showing rides. Thanks."

In response to my query last week about TR and Zwift support..

Hi Darryn,

Thanks for your message. We can't provide details about next releases, stay tuned! We will announce new features to all our users.

My guess is that it is being done as we speak, If they lock their ANT system out they will lose the battle imo, Bluetooth will simply take over, maximum inter-connectivity is what people want these days;

The all our users makes me slightly more happy the classic will continue to be supported.

Small piece of info that is maybe of some use -

The BKool app does actually support the ANT+ trainer profile – the app according to BKOOL is ready to work...

Not sure how you would connect to TR or Zwift though?

This ties into my Zwift/Bkool Specific invite. I will try tonight after the other rides but tomorrow i am home where i have a high speed connection which zwift seems to lean towards. ive just asked Zwift for access to the iphone app too as that would be great to be able to control the bkool in game.

Bkool VR + TR + Zwift i may never ride in fresh air again! I wonder if my CX series will take GPX uploads in lieu of actually attendance..

Can you shed any light on starting tips, if you recall on tues i was left on the start line because the turbo was winding down.

One important thing I learned last time, the message to stop pedalling stays on the screen while ANY rider on the start line has above zero speed, it does not necessarily apply to the person seeing it.

I learnt this to my cost, as I assumed it applied to me and started pedalling again at the last second to try and get it to register my zero speed, but that cost me 7 seconds waiting for it to coast back down again.

So it seems the best bet is to stop pedalling around 10+ seconds and then sit there until your readings all zero and after you hear the starting beep at zero countdown ...

I also swapped bikes so will run my stages PM on garmin

Great, thanks, will be good to compare average wattages for the main ride, although it is best on short steep rides with no descents, so that Bkool's adjustments for freewheeling downhill do not apply, and only weight and gravity are major factors.

Tonight's ride should be a good warm up for Alpe d'Huez, unless you get in a sprint for the line and go deeply into the red ...

As someone once told me, any ride with more than one man involved becomes a race!

P.S. opening the advance excuses ....

I am moving furniture and ripping up carpets all day, so will be done in by 7pm (Computer Geeks aren't used to heavy manual labour, unless it's carrying Servers around) ...

I'm sure you'll all go easy on me?
