For instance I pedal with 70rpm, the slope is zero the speed is about 30 km/h and my power is 170W. Now let's say the slope changes to -2. What happens now is, that my speed changes to perhaps 35km/h even if all other parameters stay the same. Would the slope have changed to -4 then my speed would have changed to perhaps 40km/h. I don't think this is correct, because when the RPM is constant my velocity shouldn't change. Perhaps this is normal on all Bkool Trainers and I dont't have to worry about. I hope someone can confirm this behavior and I can sleep more quiet again.
:welcome:

Your BKool is working properly
On a down slope, the speed display on the screen shows a higher speed than you are actually doing (as shown on a bike computer). I think it's Bkool's attempt to simulate gravity giving you a helping hand.
When this happens, the speed on the screen turns blue. If you pedal hard enough, you go faster than the calculated blue speed and it goes back to black.

OK, Thursday Night Group setup...

Thursday Night Group
Group rides starting warm up at 7pm (UK) on a Thursday night, or catch up any time in the rest of the week.

Hopefully a mix of sessions, perhaps we should try each others local courses, to get to know the localities. Best if they have been given the 3D treatment though, as that works best for group rides.

Would welcome suggestions for next Thursday, preferably with the occasional flat bit or even a downhill ..

All this climbing has given me a thought...

I see that some of the Simon Warren 100 Climbs are on bkool, but since the entire Official 100Climbs are on Strava I wondered if there was any reason why I shouldn't just use one of the tools to export the segments and upload them to Bkool?

I am planning on doing as many of the local 100 climbs as I can next year (avoiding the 25% nutters), and practising on the Bkool would be a big help.

So far I've only done Haytor (No 9) and Salcombe Hill (No 12). I think I'd have to loose a couple of stone to get up No 3 (Crowcombe) or No 4 (Porlock)!

Ok, thank you. So I am really happy that everything is ok. :heat:I never noticed that the color of the speed changes to blue and back to black.
Will check this tomorrow on my next planed ride.
Cheers and have a nice weekend.

Brilliant! Look forward to that. I think it is only fair that you choose first. Pick something not too taxing, for our inaugaural ride at least. That said I didn't manage to get to Bill's ride last night. And no, before you all say, I'm not scared! I WASN'T cowering behind my sofa, shooting furtive glances at my BKool, hoping that evil mountain would flatten itself out. I will try to get on it tonight, but seems like everything has come at once in this household!
