Lol! I just tried that brutal hill climb that Bill put in the league, and put a big lump of oak under my front wheel block. Was all good until I eventually worked my way off it, dropped 6 inches to the floor and my chain came off! Although to be honest, I was rather grateful, I would never have made it to the top! Will try something a bit smaller next time!

Anyway, to start off a wee bit of fun between tomorrow and Christmas I've set up a new league with my limited searching ability to run one a week (3 weeks) up until 24th Dec. When you see these you might only want to do 1 a week (Berty ;)). I did swear I would never do the 3rd week one again, but oh well, that was 2 weeks ago. So it should show up tomorrow in Leagues under the Rebels group.

In the mean time someone could set up a new group and we could have a different league similar to what Rayvon suggested ^^^^.

Right will have a look this weekend and set up a group for the Thursday night rides unless anyone has objections

No objections from me! If you put me on Admin in that group, I will try and learn my way around and be of some assistance. I am going to struggle to do tomorrow evening, got my kids school Xmas Fayre. But I might have another stab at it later on in the evening, if it's not too late. I need to calm down, next attempt, and pace myself a lot better than I did this time. I've never attempted anything this brutal on my Trainer before, it was an eye opener, that's for sure!

Positive? That first one, which incidentally is the only one I've looked at, is less appealing than my mother-in-law coming for Xmas dinner....which she unfotunately is! So 'resigned' is a better description of my reaction to your gruelling selection Bill!

I'm 12st, but 6'3", which yes puts me in the same category as racing snakes, and on steep inclines, I may as well be on ice! I am going to try elevating the front wheel a bit, and see if that helps! Although for Bill's rides, it might have to go on the dining room table for realism AND grip purposes!

Oh no!! You are indeed a racing snake. You have the proportions of a TDF racer so it doesn't bode well for the rest of us when you get properly fit. I'm not sure if all these steep hills are a good idea after all as they will soon have you pushing out loads more watts. Same for Berty, Another of TDF proportions that us lardy ones will be struggling to keep up with soon enough. I'm not considered fat anymore but you guys are in a whole different league when the genes were dished out.

A slight word of warning to those thinking of raising their front wheels too far. I did this a while back and all was well at first. Then after a couple of weeks my knees packed in and I realised I had effectively changed the geometry of the bike by raising the front too far. I think bikes are designed with the seat a certain distance back from the cranks for a reason and raising the front beyond the level will move the cranks slightly further forward. Fortunately my knees have recovered now but my bike is also level now.

I'm happy to help as admin, I've been in IT for 30+ years so might be some use! :-)

Only been cycling for a couple of years, so not too great at that.

I've come up with a fiendish plan to improve my W/kg, it's easier to loose weight than improve power. Just got my body fat down below 25% so can still improve the kg bit quite some. Unfortunately, I think the W bit is coming down just as fast!

Have to go out later so tried Stage 1. Blasted connection dropped as soon as I started so ended up pedaling the whole thing just looking at the wee marker travelling along at walking pace (literally).

Never imagined I'd reach the finish but I did it in 1 hour 27 minutes. Complete rubbish but glad I finished it. Can we please have a bit more variation next time though to suit all abilities a bit better? That was just brutal!

PS: I take it no-one else has done it yet as no other results are showing up in the League yet? (posted on Fri @ 18:30).

Geoff, if you can set this up I'm happy to leave it with you 30+ years I'm sure you zip thru it rather than me bumbling

1 hour 13 minutes and 19 seconds. That's the longest climb I've ever done by far. Can't say I enjoyed it, but nice to know I have at least a chance of getting up the real thing.

Slowly improving my W/kg, so I'm happy.

Hello,

I have the Bkool classic since 4 weeks now. So far not much problems(except that I cannot use the video function, but this is perhaps because of my not so fast Internet connection) But there is one issue, I found a little bit strange and I am not sure if only I have this behavior or if this is normal.
For instance I pedal with 70rpm, the slope is zero the speed is about 30 km/h and my power is 170W. Now let's say the slope changes to -2. What happens now is, that my speed changes to perhaps 35km/h even if all other parameters stay the same. Would the slope have changed to -4 then my speed would have changed to perhaps 40km/h. I don't think this is correct, because when the RPM is constant my velocity shouldn't change. Perhaps this is normal on all Bkool Trainers and I dont't have to worry about. I hope someone can confirm this behavior and I can sleep more quiet again.
Thank you and greetings from Germany
