You get less interference on the so called flat side.
Height does matter..
I love my tech jargon...thingy covers so much.
I have lots of coax cables coming through the roof in this here room, all neat and tidy for once...
as for the rest of the place..chaos.

I meant the big yellow river place for some stuff...
Which is one reason you have yours horizontal. The other being lack of headroom/vertical room.
You're trading one off against the other...
A bit like yoke and lug.
And each one attached to its own aerial. You be careful when you go up there. Can't have anyone saying it's dangerous due to all the wires lying around.
What's important is organised though, that's the main thing.

Not a fan of mail order places, much less the big river place. Others will have different opinions to me on this. Saying it's the way things are going, but I doubt if one year will decide things.

Looks like being overcast and very mild if I can believe the Beeb.

Dodgy lot...
I'd left early to head west..
and much windier there on the seafront...
Heard the coastguard give out the 3 hourly weather bulletin (Belfast CGuard) from its Greenock relay, 80 yards away
Winds have to die back somewhat..
Made a run for the car when some hefty stingy sleet came on...
Stay warm , old yin....

Owdo early bird
Brighton!!
Nah, my money is on it not snowing.
Dean Martin singing 'Let it rain, let it rain' doesn't have that Christmas feel to it
You believe the beeb, on their forecast!!
Beeb get theirs from a private company who use the free Met Office weather information.....

Horizontal does have its advantages in an built up area, less interference and if I did put it outside, it would still be horizontal..
You keep my lugs out of it...
It's organised.. surprisingly not much interference on the receiving ones, I use a band pass filter on 1290 aircraft one to reject out of band signals as it processes weak signals...ne effect on anything within 150 mile..

Anyway, been a long day, I better go grab :cuppa:

True. At least you can follow Gene Kellys lead and go singing, and dancing, in the rain. Don't think there's been anyone singing in the snow. Much less dancing in it.

Does that make it more reliable?

Where would you put one, that size, outside without folk wondering what you were up to!!
Okay I will, and yer yoke(s)...
No-one, but you, goes up there, meaning there's no need to mess with your organisation of things.
If it has ne effect, is it working properly!

You do that, you were up early this morning.
Grab a biscuit as well...

What's this thread about? I've always seen it but never commented, not understood the rules. It doesn't seem to be about PGTips, unless it's seriously gone off the rails

Portobello beach....
Far as I ever got into Edinburgh was Fountainbridge at the (now) end of the Union Canal,
it an enjoyable day out (whilst the entire family had gone to Portugal)....
I've got all the stuff downstairs to set the bike up but just can't bring myself round to it...
I have set myself a target for 2025 but who knows..
I passed some of my old cycling haunts yesterday and felt guilt..
Keep pedalling..

WX? down to ones interpretation of the data at hand..
Big powerful computers should get it right some of the time....
I'll try standing outside and sticking my finger in the wind...
Right, just done that..
and it will rain....scientific or what...
I reckon I have a 50% chance..

Easy, put a flagpole or fake downpipe in..use a vertical..
At the last Towers, I had a dipole which started in the apex of the attic,
went outside and each leg hid behind a drainpipe..
no one ever commented on it and it was there for 38 years..
wire was the same plastic coating colour as the downpipe,
changed the wire a few times over the years..
Dipole had 33 ft of wire each side...

Yo ho ho...
