Publishing company..
I guess its a way of keeping access to the masses for posterity.
I think most authors would prefer the option plus it keeps alive the wit, humour etc.
Much younger than me..
I've seen a few cases of 'estates' who inherit the copyright just flogging rights to everybody and anybody to make quick money.
Some won't take it gracefully when the cash cow eventually runs out, no need for Sherlock to work that one....
apparently it is to encourage the creator to do more create more work...
Cher's ex has a lot to answer for
Usually the way these days.
Why not as it means they don't have to come up with anything newer.
Easy money runs out fast though.
Don't see how that is possible if the creator is no longer around though.
What for?
I should have put the above bit here..
ach well.

Unhygienic licking a spoon or bowl..
Wasteful leaving excess in the bowl. Both require cleaning before washing.

Copyright business is more lucrative than the product..in most cases..
Been a day,
I got out for an hour's car run this afternoon..
first time in ages..

Mrs M is wanting another part of the back, sleepers and stones.
Luckily not a full bag of stones I think..
but I can use them elsewhere...if I'm allowed

Especially if they feel that you owe them money, I've found.
Minor problem this afternoon, has seen me in the door not long ago.
Yer chauffeur agreed to take you out to help with card payments.

Did you point out what DIY stands for?
How much "cheaper" is the smaller amount required.
You've plans in the offing?

Sadly now if you buy digital, it really isn't yours in some cases.
My Kindle books I don't know about...
the convenience of instant downloading, packed bookcases are gone now.
Music?
mines is monthly subscription but that really works for me....

Aurora, all round I think , I peeped out blinds around 2 and saw some very faint green and purples but never bothered getting dressed and popping out.
Card payments? only time I handle money now is club fees..
no bawbees left:laugh:

Another reason for not going digital in my case. Especially on the printed word. Aside from a few harder to obtain magazines(no-where stocking them) downloaded via the local library, I've nowt in that format.
How many of those books that were sat on shelves were ever digitised?

Surprised you didn't venture out for a better look see, but you've probably seen them that often now. I never even bothered looking this time.
These club fees, are you collecting or paying. And do they still accept cash.
Have you checked down the back of the sofa!

Owdo
Aye, and why not now you've less to do and more time to do it...
Just a cuppa.
Well it weren't the coffee stopping yer sleeping. Only one in 11 weeks.

More likely my kipping during the day..

I use the library app, in the queue just now for an audiobook....
Handy app, I read a couple of magazines each month.
just getting something back from my council tax....

Funnily, we were watching something yesterday and it was a house valued at 4 mill, I said to Mrs M, check the sofa, in case...

Obviously a new(ish) thing,
you sign up an author, he writes the book (other media)
you can sell physical and then digital..
no physical printing, no logistics getting it into bricks and mortar, (new book repository getting built not too far away from here, building is massive)
YET some digital copies can cost as much as physical copies.
Have decided I'm not giving coffee up all together..
Along with one of my daily pills, it certainly doesn't help

Could you stop that as easy as you did the coffee?

We've a confusing system involving over half a dozen apps. Not everything is available on just the one, or even two apps, so you've to check them all. This audio book, is a whodunnit?
Put like that, it makes more sense. You've paid for it, get something back for yer money.

Don't be daft. You'd have noticed a house down the back of thes sofa a long time ago.

There was a council employee, down here, that wrote a book that way. Council refused to "stock it" though, reckon they were just jealous. He was the editor of "Northern Earth" until recently.
I find the pricing for digital copies weird as well. Granted you need somewhere to hold a copy, but why at different prices. Do they show different if they're "hardback" or "paperback"?
Could you manage on decaf?
I know what you mean about yer daily pills.

Whatever you have/had, I seem to have caught, I were certain that I'd posted the above yesterday. Turns out I hadn't.

Ours use the Libby app but for publications etc, Pressreader (or summit like that.
The big river Kindle has a 99p thing most days..
I've picked up more than a few that way, Ben McIntyre war stuff etc.
It's Bob Mortimer's latest (second), I'm not a novel reader but enjoyed his first book.

I laughed earlier about lack of caffeine intake..
Guess who has been emptying Lucozade bottles *oh Bob*
Wish my daily ones were Holstein or of that ilk..
I've a Caesar Augustus in the fridge, it is getting poured later...
Off to try 'print' another 'file'..

Mrs M latest garden plan (11m sq), materials all ordered, initial area sprayed with w/killer..
Owdo
Did you...

Ours set something up with them, they were going to supply the readers/tablets. Concerns about privacy, readers/tablets "going missing" were all raised and and dismissed. Then talk of backhanders and sweeteners scuppered it. Which is why we have over half a dozen different ones in use now.
Not into novels either. There's plenty goes on in real life that you'd never get in a novel "because it'd never happen".

So you've changed yer drinks. You remember it's not the same drink it were at the turn of the century? Concerns over what was in the original forced the recipe change.
Maybe switch drinks again to Guinness, they used to give it to new mothers in hospital, it's good for you. Might make you sleepy though, like it did with new mums.
New printer, again...

You'll have no need of that robotic mower at this rate. Everything to hand, comfy chair, refreshments, towels in the freezer.

Thought you might.
