Scythe, if looked after could out do a strimmer..
would advise not to use any metal attachments..
seen a couple of nasty accidents.
Hedges? 38 mins per 100 sq m was our bonus scheme time...
cut, sweep and dispose..

same time for planting bedding plants, 38 mins per 100 , bulbs were 22 mins per 100..

0.3 mm so far today,
another .2 has fallen since I forgot to press post reply..
Just under a 12 with a testy section of a steepish short hill, foot gowping so will wait and see if anything comes out of it.
Got soaked on way back, it was cooling though.
Folk see you with one and you get one of two responses. They'll either stop, possibly walking back the way they've just come. Or enquire as to why you're using something as outdated, can't you afford something more up to date.
On the strimmer or scythe?
You can do a fair bit of damage with just the handle. Seen one or two car tyres, on badly parked cars cut. Seen someone swinging it above their head, nearly taking someones head off.
How many doing those 100 sq m though, and the sweeping, disposing...

Didn't like you going slow, did they.

Zero, here today. Clear skies with contrails crossing and a dinnertime temperature of just under 27C.
Hope yer foot sorts itself out.
Rained on and no moaning...

Say, a flower bed fully prepared for planting, taking say 2.500 plants....
950 mins, roughly 2 men at 8 hours.. days work
Plant, tidy edged etc and sweep area, throw old trays on lorry...
got 12.5 % so really 1068 mins ( two good planters? done in a morning_
one man plant then swap around, easy done.
plus spring bulbs ? add 440 for that bed, bulbs done after bedding out..
I still have my trusty trowel and secateurs :okay: (that's all)

Take away salt and sanding off a lorry(I ended up modifying a hand spreader), preparing beds for summer bedding, Dealing with idiot management, I liked my job....

2.3 mm and a high of 18.3c at midday, lowest temp was 14.1c at 5.41....

Cycled down past where the fella cut back the overhanging brambles etc, looks like 150m done? but jeez, a lot of glass on the pavement further up the pavement, somebody must like throwing green beer bottles out passenger side windows.(stone walls)

You didn't hang around then, from that description.
Could you do it now. Is there any need for anyone to do it now?
You didn't sign them back in!!
Trowel must be well worn, but still better than one bought these days.

Did anyone else copy your idea?
Was the dealing with idiot management the icing on the cake on a good day?

29.9°C around one this afternoon, warmed slightly but no thermometer to hand. Double figures all day long, so far.
No rain, but there's thunder in the air. Almost possible to taste it. It's got to happen sometime soon.

Enough room for you to cycle past without having to duck out of the way.
Anything local going on. Not that it excuses the behaviour with the bottles.

Summat going on in Leeds, with parts cordoned off by police.

Nope, I get Mrs M to do the bedding plants:hello:
(she believed that's a job allocated to the youngest)
I plant up anything that is brought on etc.
I used to wet myself laughing at these tv gardening programmes with all the preparation, stringing off and taking almost a minute plus with each plant, put edging and dot plants in then just carpet bomb the open spaces. Sadly the eejits in charge didn't change the plants per bed, only the colours, boring as u know what, no deadheading allowed (I did one bed one year and got pulled for it, you could SEE the difference). Immediate boss had the tee shirt etc, knew his stuff but those who were nepotism placed, I better not swear...
Dull start but no precipitation yet..
Although a whirlwind is about sweep in the Towers...
preparing for the devastation, toys strewn everywhere, cupboards and drawers open and sat first with a packet of skips or pom-bears:laugh:

Is that something you convinced her was her job by rights, or did she insist on doing it.
Your in charge of the pot plants then!
You stopped laughing at those TV programmes, or stopped watching tthem
They have to make things look harder than they actually are though, as though it's something only a trained person could do. From gardening to DIY, but they also have to guess any questions that might arise and answer them before they're asked.
Those above you know what they want, even if they don't know how to get the end result. And woe betide anyone who doesn't do as they're told. Had a few like that over t'years.
Would anyone hear you if you did?
Already in the high teens here, 12C at five this morning. Hosepipe ban by next Monday if it stays this way today and tomorrow.
The storm front now arrived at your location. Tidying up afterwards will give you summat to do, keep you active as it were. Hide the skips, or leave any empty packet where it can easily be found.

She didn't want you doing everything on yer own. Bob's Shilling, you had a shilling and you gave it away. Hope she didn't rush off and spend it.
On a Friday, it could be Bob's Bob a job bob.
Allocated, your programming is set, again?

Dry here so far, rain expected early evening.
No lazy day, there's everything you didn't do over the weekend to catch up on.
Maybe the battery/ies need changing, or you require winding up...
Different timezone?!

I have a 2 bob bit I got for my last big birthday (year of appearing)
I could get it fitted on a chain and become Medallion Man, big 'just for men dyed' moustache..
Frilly open shirt and flares..
Jesus boots, no socks...
trendy as ........

Dry, humid here..
I made the mistake of heading out for a tour of block,
boy, was it a hot out..

Rain due soon,
sky is blue..mmmm
Suppose it saves me watering..
talking about water..
I need more....

A two Bob bit for yer birthday!
They don't know the meaning of money up there.
A pot of gold paint, having degreased it first, then cleaned that off, and paint to match yer gold chain.
If the head is clear, a moustache looks odd. A just for men one or otherwise.
You'd fit in at the Wheeltappers and Shunters dressed like that, no problems.

Dry here, despite the promise of showers by 1700 hrs. 28°C and 62% humidity here two hours ago.
On two wheels or two feet?
T'as been close all day, but getting cooler. No breeze all day.
Have a soak in Toodles paddling pool in the garden...

Silver chain, think I got it for my last decade birthday..

'members of the commiteehhhh'
It has to better than the mince they have on't telly on weekends now....

All this talk of National ID cards and yon clod with his chipping humans..
we'll all get chipped and they'll send stuff into yer grey matter from the highest bidders...
You will watch ITV on Sat nights, you will buy beer from ..... etc etc.

Trump that, Donald.

Plenty rain now, 7.9 mm so plants watered.
A good breeze still depending on what window you open.
I've a small USB fan which does for the desk.
We gave our big one away. might pick up another.

Nah, silver is out if you want to be true Medallion Man it has to be gold.

You auditioning for the part.
It's where a load of the older acts started out. Now unless every second or third word is a swear word, it's not funny. Think I'm missing summat here...

In ways not against such an ID card, done as a photo ID card. It's the amount of stuff they want to put on it and who'd be able to access it that has me against them.
As for chipping, who'll do the fish!
They might even charge us for the "privilege of putting it in".
As for the data they could extract, when your right arm is being exercised on a weekly basis... What you're listening to...

Don't think he could. Last I heard he were against anything being put into the body that the person didn't want.
It wet the pavement, and struggled doing that.
Not even a whiff of a breeze here.
Got a large one a few years ago, in the middle of a snowfall. Odd looks on the checkout.
