View attachment 719204
avec butter (a fair spreading) the food of gods...

minus 1.3c just now, forecast not as low as the last two night

never mind coffee, beer time:okay:
[URK=https://www.volcanodiscovery.com/earthquakes/quake-info/8790440/mag1quake-Jan-16-2024-Portugal-SW-Albufeira.html]Seven miles, a fair safe distance?
Be a bit of travelling back and forth between the two. Or, the radio comes out!

You could always make yer own. Save money.

They look good, but they'd have to be warm when eating.
I'd go with Burnt Roll, not well fired. Looks as though someone wasn't keeping an eye on the first lot to be made, then found they sold well with another description.

Minus three forecast, along with a possibility of snow overnight. The second day of chaos according to the council weather forecast.

Served up cold?

Burnt rolls are fabbydo...
I sprachle loads of butter on them and enjoy with a cuppa tea.
Fillings are optional...

Minus 1.7c at worst..
dusting of the usual but rapidly disappearing..
Light sleet/rain it just can't make it's mind up...
Fridge set on optimum beer chill mode...

Owdo
Aye, nearly here
You'll have to wait a day, it was Saturday Night Fever not Friday Night Fever.
You still got enough for a perm?

What's wrong with reliving the good ole days!

Maybe, but there's increasing activity these last few years in that area

I'll take yer word on their merits
Now is it butter you use or one of these modern synthetic spreads?
Fillings, on a bread roll!

Cloud cover meant it warmed up slightly in the early hours.
We've had a light dusting, with it trying to make its mind up on whether it should continue or not.
Save electric, put them outside to stay cool.

Butter, synthetic spreads, yes.
I do have a liking for the 'four leaf stuff' or more now, the aldi version..
Mrs M who has no taste, literally, prefers the Clover.. says textures are different, I haven't noticed any real difference...
we do bake with the real thing.

Up at 5.2c and f/cast is for around freezing overnight with winds getting stronger Sunday...

Saturday Night Fever regular in Mhor Towers?
You have UV lighting fitted in yer house? Nowt illegal going on.

Kerrygold butter when available, otherwise it's the four leafed stuff like yerself.
Some are like a fine grinding paste, why I know not.
Good to hear yer burnt rolls are made with the real thing.

We've a chance of further snow today, and possibly overnight.
Not heard anything about strong winds yet.

I have UV light torches..
once used for night-time golf ball hunts...
amazing results and buckets of 'lost' balls found...

Seriously the Aldi equivalent of the four leaf stuff is brilliant..
you can tell it by its tub
Rain here over last two hours, light, temp presently 2.9c..

wind on its way, Storm Isha..it can be renamed if its wet by adding a P...
trip W the morrow I think..

Where'd you get them, and what was their working range?
Nights on the local golf course(s) hunting for balls. At least you weren't after blood.

I'll have a gander, but tend to find own brands are a poor second.
I don't want to eat the tub! Or are you saying the tub is the best part to eat?
Softening here, temperature higher than twenty-four hours ago.
We'll see what Isha brings with her.
Seems as though the south are going to be hit the worst. Expect to see pictures of brollies in use, down there, in the news.
Framed print to collect?

Framed and a re-framed....hopefully
I'd buckets of them, no one believed me about the torches (early internet days)
so a couple came up with me one and man, another plastic bucket filled, it was a mix of good and poor balls but once washed etc, sorted, we used the useless ones for driving into the river at work. as it was sand falts at low tide, we picked them up occasionally..

As Mrs M said, I'm surprised you used that (cheapo stuff).
It was 2/3 of the price and four leaf stuff was on special...

Must fly

Hope they did a decent job of it.
So you wandered around the golf course, with yer accomplices, at night looking for golf balls.
Were you never stopped and asked what you were up to?
What did you do with the good one's. Recover your spending on the torches.
You whacked balls into the river, whilst working. Did you at least get paid still.

You never just swapped containers, to see if she noticed.
Can't beat a good special offer.

Have fun...

That there rain you've had, were meant for down south, send it down when you can.
Cuppa worth waiting for?

Typical, it stopped..
14.7 mm so far..

Aye, top quality job done as usual..
worth the two hour journey (there and back)
roads were quiet...
I actually still have some of them left, not many, I gave lots away.
One or two asked but never bothered when we imparted our method..
I saw an older bloke searching the rough along one country road looking for balls, I told him what to buy and how to 'do' it.
Months later, I met him and his missus and she gave me friendly hell as he was out all the time and his findings were taking up too much space, he was selling them on and it was a good earner, beer money she said laughingly.
I found best cleaner was a good soak in biological soap powder
Actually 'hit' most likely the most exclusive club in the then immediate area on a couple of night and the ratio of cheapest balls you could buy in the Pro shop was by far the most common ball
I preferred a Nike Distance Soft ball myself.
I've been toying with going back to it, still got all my gear...
might go a cycle around all the nearby courses and strike up some conversations to feel the lie of the land...
I have an invite to play one but I'm rustier than a bottle of Irn Bru:laugh:
but a wasted walk two or three times a week could be an idea..
just get a weekday yearly ticket...

nah it was at lunchtime

Still trying to snow this morning as I headed out. Get home, and the heavens appear ready to open. Feels as though it could rain as well.

Hope you tipped your chauffeur for the two hour trip.
Oddly quiet here on the roads. Wonder where they all went.
Balls or UV torches?
No good deed goes unpunished!
Sounds as though they give up too easy when they hit the rough. Must be easy drop shots, and balls must be cheap.
Just a soak, never tempted to wash them in the washing machine?
Sound out the local clubs first, see how many balls you find at each, then go with the largest number found. You'd recoup whatever it cost you in no time.
Rusty IrnBru, there's a drink just waiting to hit the shelves.

You were gone early then.
