I know but what the hell..
Busy backing up everything but oldest Mhor busy so who knows when upgrade..
I just need an extra pair of eyes..
very slight shower this morning barely enough but gave a quick rake while Mrs M was skipping the first load...
Suppose for a second or two that there were no more beer allowed in yer house though!
Computer giving problems, can't the Young 'Un fix it for you.
I might have a spare matching set somewhere, would they do you.
And she never noticed when she came back.

Windows 11 , a new kettle of fish overall..
I'll get there.

PS I don't need a reason:cuppa:

Good Coronation Quiche to you :hello:

I'll stick with Mrs M's quiches, thank you..
Enjoy the pomp and circumstance...
Let me know if it was any good.....
You been trying to avoid it?
Not too certain about quiche though.

Should be all over now, bar the shouting, the drinking, the street parties and the cleanup after it all.

No need to rush it then.
Still can't get my head round HAM radio on a computer, not a radio set.
Upgraded to it or a new setup?
Don't think that were ever in doubt.

Ah well...

Same cabinet, same ssd drive, power supply (it was renewed recently), a new motherboard, a new processor, new memory and a pre-loved graphic card....
almost.....
All it wanted to earlier was do updates....
I'll do the other in a month or two..
Ham stuff ?
Logging program most essential..
I have a calc sheet adapted to a logbook, originally was going to print page by page BUT now well over 1,200 pages..
a bit late now.
Technology like Software Defined radio is all computer based..
any how the Giro is underway albeit a time trial...
so that's the viewing until later...

You'll not have stood up, and taken the oath of allegiance then?
18% interested in it!

Would it have been cheaper to start afresh?
Now what does it want to do, go fer walkies...
All yer radio stuff...
The logging I can understand. Then you have to get it and yer printer speaking to each other.
Always handy to have a paper backup though.
No base station in "your room"?
Plonk yerssen down, with a drink to hand

No way Jose..
I'd more important things to do..

nah, new towers running 11 are a bit more expensive plus I have a reasonable good upgrade...the periphery not replaced are bog standard..
I'm happy, just windows 11 to get grips with.
Printers on wifi, daughter called up earlier for me to switch printer and she sent the file to print via her phone....

on my second beer....

Fair enough.
Won't ask what you got up to...

All seems to be laptops these days. Towers/desktops are so last year these days. You seem to have replaced a fair bit of the internals though.
Mouse, monitor and keyboard? They're missing a bit there. Especially if the mouse and keyboard are wireless.
You'll get used to it and everything sorted then they'll announce the release date of their latest OS.

Get you, WiFi printing!
I've still got two printers that can use parallel cables.

There's not much of the night left, enjoy yer beer.

11 is the newest OS..
printer is a fair age TBH..
nah, I'm a tower person, laptops can be too flaky for what i use them for.
I haven't got to sharing a monitor yet, I'll stick at using two....
mouse can be flaky at time, one tower it works well with and the other is flaky..
one keyboard of course....

amazing the difference in parts cost ......

For now!
Windows 12 due out next year, possibly.
I've been looking at newer printers. Problem for me is they all seem a "bit fragile" these days. And of course you can't get just a printer these days. They include scanners, fax and other stuff I'd never use. Which makes them more "fragile" than a true printer.
I'm a tower person myself, still. With the possibility of a cheap second-hand laptop to work the newer printers.
Canon BJC-6500 is my main printer, doing A3, but has handled/printed over 50,000 A4 sheets at more than 30% coverage. Mention that when looking for a new printer and there's an instant recoil as they search for something that can match it.

The price of spare parts can be eye watering to say the least.
