What were the soup?A batch of home soup and another loaf got rid of the 'alfredian' loaf odour
No further baking mishaps then.

My granddaughter.
Home made,
a hotch potch of lentil, veg and rice...
this was made in a pot
me? I just use a soup maker, much easier..
a bag of soup mix, cup of lentils, fresh herbs add Knorr cubes et voila..
leave for 24 hours to 'fuse'...
Loaf perfect.....
no charcoal top

Homemade soup. Made with a bit of everything you had to hand? Taste okay, no damage done to anyone?
If it were only the top that were burned, simple job to scrape the charcoal off, before presenting it as a well baked loaf

no coal tar now, tree tea oil substituted...
Never bothered, tattie scones the morrow.

I had a really enjoyable wander earlier. A loop round Loch Monzievaird which is turning into my favourite route. Saw a Pine Marten this morning.

I had my old sketchers...
I have a couple of pair walking shoes but never seem to put them on,
different sized splas here so one insole inside to make up difference

We've no coal mines now to get the coal tar required for the soap. Can yer not send the Young Un down to get some, or up the chimney to get the raw coal tar?
Tea tree's, any chance you'd get a cuppa from one.
Just bread and water then. Ye'll waste away in no time.

Plenty old coal mines in this area..
EU put the kybosh on it apparently...
I'd used tea tree oil in the soap I was making....
Bread and water? tonight was haddie night...

Most folk buy their soap, you make yer own. Very deep pockets...

Nah, all blocked off now...
Allegedly nearest underground workings 200m away, all allegedly..
In those past times, not all might be declared (I assume).
Did a lot of reading into accidents and they all seem to be the men underground to blame, never the owners fault..
