The driver was prosecuted for dangerous driving, nowadays their given the option of attending a coursen run by the police which is aimed at improving people's driving.
Whether it works or not I have no idea and very little faith. Apparently they have to pay to go on it £100 or more, and it can be anywhere in the country. If they refuse that option then he would have been taken to court. I have had to see various specialists and am waiting an appointment to see an Orthopedic expert.
My claim is ongoing, hr wrote off my beloved pinarello fp uno, I had a £1,000 worth of clothing, shoes, helmet etc on which was either ruined by the impact, ruined by hitting the road from 15-20 foot up or cut to ribbons by the ambulance crew trying to get at me, Lycra is not good when someone is trying to undress you quickly.
He wasn't too far away from writing me off to, so I think I'm entitled to something, only if it's to replace my bike and clothes.
It sounds like you are entitled to compensation for pain and injury, as well as replacing your kit. I'm assuming that you were off work for a while so you should get compensation for lost wages.

Glad you got out and had a good time today, despite the nagging back pain.

Still Ill. Didn't go to Abertawe yesterday, stayed in bed, was up all night making regular trips to the bathroom and today is the first time I've had a cup of tea since Thursday xx(

Hi @the_mikey :hello:
That doesn't sound good, hope you are feeling a bit better. xx(
That also explains your absence from the forum yesterday, Mr C speculated you were on route to Leeds, he got something wrong for once

Yep! I was off work and out of action for quite a few weeks.
Had a good time today, got a few aches and pains now but nothing can put a dampener on today.
Sounds like you had a challenging day................hope you enjoy your twiglets.

I'd take him for everything you can. He doesn't have a leg to stand on as far as his insurance is concerned.

That is nasty, and hope hope you are well compensated for what you have had to endure.
That is no punishment for him, just a slight inconvenience and he is probably laughing about it all.
As I said in my earlier post to you, the motorist should be held far more accountable for his actions and should have to prove you were in the wrong. More severe punishments may make motorists think about their actions.

I hope he can get a substantial sum for what he has had to endure. The motorist is probably laughing with his mates about it.

Probably, people like that always do, but at least you can get as much compensation as you can.

Totally agree he came up the inside of me on the grass verge so it really was 100% down to him, driving his dad's Kia Sedona doing 60 in a 40 mph road.
I didn't stand a lot of chance but as you say he's probably laughing now and moved on, while I'm the one whose still trying to get over it.
However, I consider myself lucky to be here so try not to dwell on it and just enjoy life, even more now I've started riding again. :bravo:

After what Patrick Whistle did to your northern mob today, it'll be a Cortina and a Corsa from oop North at Scapa Flow:whistle:

Not good @Bobby Mhor, that's 2 victories over my team this season by them and pretty convincing by the sound of it. I also had to endure seeing the Tesco carrier bags beat my southern lot today, absolutely galling as we had a player sent off in the first half when we were in control.
