Heavens i have just read that someone has spent the last 4 months swimming from Lands End to John O Groats, and i thought cycling it was bad enough.

Edit:- Though being the word there as i have never cycled it but the thought of it makes me feel faint.

I'm in Costa and have just had 600 calories - one sandwich and a flat white. No more food for the day

Oxford's full of wonderful independent coffee shops and you go to Costa?

There used to be a wonderful coffee shop in Birmingham called druckers. I don't know if it is still there but the smell of fresh coffee was wonderful and they're cakes were divine. They contained about 10 gazillion calories per slice. Heaven on a fork

Did he finish - I read a while ago that he'd run out of money and was thinking about sending his support crew home. Good for him.

The speed I'm cycling I'd probably be no quicker by road.

When I commuted in to London from Oxford, the smell of fresh coffee from the shop just up from the bus stop used to get me every single time.

I'll not mention to those on calorie starvation rationing diets that I have two coffee eclairs here. One has already been scoffed and the other is in serious danger
Of course, it does mean that @Hill Wimp can compare and contrast (in her favour) the various outcomes when she visits
