We are taking in Cafe Central - English Breakfast for me as for some reason they don't have Yorkshire Tea. The pianist is playing the theme from the Third Man. I'm looking around for Trotsky, Hitler, Freud and Tito - all regulars but they don't seem to be in the house this afternoon

But I am though, I have a home counties accent, I am always immaculately dressed, and I say excuse me when I fart.

They were apparently selling Yorkshire Tea in our local Spar today at the 'bargain' price of £8.88 a box, which was supposedly '160 bags for the price of 80'! I realised that the price must be wrong so I got them to check it at the till where I found that it was a much more reasonable £2.70-odd.

It turned out that the £8.88 in faint 7-segment numbers on the price-tags was supposed to be inked over to show the correct price for the bargain items, but they had forgotten to do it for the teabags.

1.7 p a bag isn't a bad price so I bought a box. In fact, I might buy another one tomorrow while the special offer is still on!
