I'm supervising a chicken and roast spuds etc, while NT is out in the garden, helping Mum lop up some prunings. I think he's having fun. Mum is doing pudding - treacle tart

Mum turned out a cracking treacle tart. The twist is that the breadcrumbs used were from hot cross buns. Gorgeous!

Just got back in from a rather nice restaurant in sunny Baldock.
Sardines / Antipasti, Rack of lamb / Veal in a Marsala sauce, Fruit / Tiramasu, and a rather pleasant Primitivo.
Had to fettle the kitchen a bit when I got back - applying a final coat.
I shall be intrigued to see how it looks in the morning, but it looks fine now. Hic!

Mornings. Off to a place where there is rationing, fear snd uncertainty stalk the population and all lights are out at sun down. Not the war weekend, Loughborough.

I'm just making a tea for me and a coffee for NT, while we gain some degree of consciousness. We better try to resist leftover treacle tart for breakfast...
