Lake Lucerne? Yes, there is a lovely railway there, the Rigibahn. It goes up the mountain from two stations, and has one top station. There are lots of boats crossing the lake, and the Pilatus is not far away.yu If you planned it properly, you could also do the Furka Oberalp railway, also known as the :addict: Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn.

Lucerne railway station is one of my (many) favourites. ^_^ I stayed at a Hotel about ten minutes walk from the centre of Lucerne. Then I went to Locarno for a few days.

I would also libe to return to Iceland, and see the waterfalls at a more leisurely pace.
It would be a set itinery (unescorted) where you walk village to village with your luggage being taken on ahead. There are some rail and bus trips, and even a couple of cable cars to get altitude so limiting the amount of up hill slog required to get good vistas.

Sounds like InnTravel. That would be far too much walking and not anywhere near enough train travel for my liking. So, I am very sorry, but I will be turning down your very kind invitation to join you and Lullabelle. ^_^

Not sure I want to think about crispy fried squirrels
All the cables are in the walls, so we should be OK until the roof caves in...
What, even the room ceiling lights (if you have them)?
