Flipping cold again this morning. Got on the train and it was bleedin' freezin' on there too. Either it was broke or the driver couldn't be arsed to turn it on. Made for a cold train ride, so by the time I got to Bromley for the ride in I was cold and stayed cold for the rest of the ride to work. A bit blustery out too.
Roll on later in the week as temperatures are meant to rise substantially.

Yeah biting cold headwind here too. At least it's dry though.

Always somebody riding tho without gloves/headwear or in shorts. I'm wrapped up but they seem oblivious to the elements

I'm normally someone who doesn't really feel the cold when riding. I've been doing it for so many years that I have got used to it. This morning was low single digit temperatures. Just a cycle cap on my noggin. Cycling Mitts, (though must admit, long finger gloves would have been better. Shorts, though with added knee warmers, usually worn for temps lower then 10°.

Have you tried ski socks normally I wear shorts all year round and two sets of socks with ski socks pulled up to knee, works in temperatures down to 0.

Nothing really to report other than a hard and chilly north wind and 🌞

Luckily my tootsies don't seem to suffer from the cold. If it is very cold I wear Sealskins waterproof socks which are great for keeping out the cold, or I have a pair of Shimano winter boots which are very toasty.

Newbie and my first post here.
i suffer with cold hands/feet in winter so as well as good gloves when it's low single figures C I use air activated feet warmers. Not the most enviromentally friendly as single use jobbies but they do the trick. These are little insoles which (obviously) go into shoes. Those and shoe covers keep my feet toasty on the coldest day. If your feet are cold it's torture and ruins a ride.

All was going fine, until I hit a bump. And in F1 parlance, "lost drive". Turn the pedals, the chain rotates, the wheel doesn't. :-(

It's on a rohloff hub (16+ years of commuting) so I'll have to have a play to find out what's gone wrong. Only a mile and a bit from work to walk in. At least it was sunny.

Easy lunchtime fix.... a lockring had become loose and allowed the cog to jump. Why that was possible is another question once I've cleaned everything properly at home.
