Vile conditions this morning: two roads closed for flooding (though passable on a bike), an inch or two of very wet snow, sheet ice underneath in a couple of places, constant sleet.

Still, better than driving!

I adjusted my route to avoid a notorious flooded road only to encounter a pretty unavoidable flooded road elsewhere. Chain dried and re-lubed at work this morning, I hope the BB is alright.

Cannot decide whether to ride tomorrow.

In terms of is it going to be icy, is the 'feels like temperature' relevant on met office website?

It's the actual temperature that matters isn't it?

Gets down to zero overnight but not sub zero. Wonder if that means ice?

Am itching for a ride, hate taking the train, but head says stick with train☹️

The 'Yellow warning Snow and ice' is there for a reason.

You can't predict iciness from temperatures alone.

How windy it is, and how clear the sky make a very big difference.

I've got ice tyres on one bike, but choosing when to use it is a bit of a lottery, I've made the wrong call in both directions in the past.

woke up this morning still dark second day of January blues, idiot weather men forecast snow this morning to dark to tell early if that was going to be the case, sunrise you guessed clear blue sky. Going to take the bike tomorrow no matter what sick of siting in a tin box burning wages.
