Another dry day. What's going on.

Not warm though.
Have you seen this afternoon's forecast?!

Nice riding this week so far ... all about to go splosh again though.

I had meeting on site today, so met them there for an excuse to bag some OS tiles (I blame @Supersuperleeds , they blame Southampton :okay:) and with the temperatures forecast I opted for bib longs rather than standing about in the cold 🥶
Some lovely country lanes enjoyed though, just after the rat run they are known for and I got to find a nice 11% (I really must fix the rear derailleur so I can use the 38t front ring, at the moment its not got enough tension if I don't use the 52t  ).
I still had the bug at night and plotted a route to bag a few more tiles. After bagging them I arrived over 20min2 early for the train and thought about going exploring and maybe getting more tiles. I'm glad I never shortly after I was undercover it started light rain which within minute turned real heavy for around 5 minutes and stayed heavy for 5 minutes more! Fortunately by the time I got off the train, the sky had turned blue and the roads were dry 👍

I had woollen gloves with a fleece pair over the top and my hands got chillblains this morning

A bit more warmth on the way in yesterday courtesy of some actual sun.

The way back was long and convoluted; meandering aimlessly around the city and including some wholly inappropriate woods-action, the gradual passing of an apparently non-plussed fully-aero placcy racing snake at 26mph on St. Giles, dangle-hoops and fish and chips.

Tripled the usual return-leg distance to around 26 miles; making 34 miles for the day and 68 for the week so far

Nice commute in this morning - took the baby to nursery in the carrier and pushed my bike, then cycled to school with the older one.
Noticed a loose cleat, thankfully the local garage has a newly installed tool stand that sorted me out in no time.

Glad I am WfH today. My fingers have barely got over chemo (5 years back) and my fingers would be like deep winter in mid summer. I only wore a pair of track mitts for the first time in 5 years two weeks ago before this last cold snap.

i cant wear track mitts unless its about 25 c

Boo. Raining with a strong headwind home. To top it off I was nearly taken out by four scallies on Sur-rons on The Alan Newton Way in Bredbury. They came tearing round a bend, loose gravel and yelled out a 'argh' as they slithered into my path at speed. I decided to take the last mile on the road as the lads usually do a loop. Warned a couple of walkers and a bloke with his dog.

Oh and to rub it in, my rear rim is worn out. A crease has appeared in the braking surface. Time for an SJS order for a replacement. Front is fine.

I wore them once this year when it was 23deg C, so hopefully things are going back to normal for me but I couldn't wear them before in temps of over 30deg C, my fingers go to cold and numb. I got some strange looks on the Cambridge Bus way cycle way when it had been 38.8deg C and I was wearing long fingers, arm warmers and leg warmers but I was the perfect temperature

I really need to swap my front rim, its felt thin for ages the lbs told me to keep an eye on it nearly 3,000miles ago but its not got any worse!

On the way out today, some twat suddenly stopped in front of me as they'd decided they'd seen a handy parking spot and proceeded to reverse into it, no indicators used at all.
On the way back, another twat pulled out from the left looking to his left only checking right when he was well into the main road.
Wotevva - !
