Odd one last night coming home in the dark, shouted at twice by different people. One by someone who I think shouted "should be on the cycle path" (on a signed shared path), I responded with "it IS a cycle path". And another, later on the road section, by one of a pair of cyclists going the other way who I think shouted "not so fast". They were both wearing orange hivis jackets so might have been colleagues. It might not have been directed at me though, it could have been one to the other so I didn't respond. At that point I was doing about 15 in a 30 limit section with a lot of motor traffic. 🤷‍♂️

A bit later though a very patient HGV driver held back for a minute or two until it was safe to overtake so I pulled and slowed down a bit to let him past and gave a wave to say thanks. All things have a consequence though so Mr Audi Driver several cars behind who must have been delayed by up by 30 whole seconds decided the right time for a pass was through the pinch point of a traffic island after I'd already taken primary, and thought another 5 seconds to clear the island was totally unconscionable. I've got a sneaking feeling I've had close passes from this one before though nothing worth reporting.

Day panned out to be bright, clear and a few degrees warmer by home-time. The air now more "very fresh" than "bitterly cold" with a distinct and optimistic, if subtle aroma of spring.

I rode back to the car with the remnants of the dying sunset just illuminating the crystal-clear sky. I've not felt this good in months tbh - probably due to a combination of the cardio, sense of agency afforded by succesfully removing myself from the rat race / overcoming some low-level adversity, slightly-greater-than-sod-all quantity of Vitamin-D-boosting UV bouncing about and the miniscule tip of the hat towards the fact that spring is coming and that things will get better

Much lighter winds this morning and much colder (-1°C on the back garden thermometer, -2°C on the Garmin) this morning with frost on the ground for the first time this week.

Slightly warmer this morning, although had to remove another piece of deliberately placed items off the Floop last night (two days running). Last night was a long length of black drain pipe placed across the whole width of the path. Stopped, popped the bike down, picked up the pipe and chucked it in the hedge. Given the 'traffic' on there it could have only been 'placed' recently, possibly by a group of teenagers I cycled past a minute or two later. All of them were blocking the path, so on went full 2200 lumen (plus the dipped light) and shouted 'coming through - thankyou' !

Audi driver waved me out at a T-junction today before passing me perfectly. Big smiles.

Also, first time using USB heated insoles in my winter boots. Only cheap ones from Amazon but wow, nice warm feet at last!

Some miscreants on the Bristol to Bath path have been known to put obstacles down as an ambush before mugging cyclists for their bikes, phones etc. Nasty behaviour.

Another frosty ride in this morning, minus 1°. But a very nice sunrise with a bit of sunshine once it appeared. The wind has dropped compared to the last few days and the traffic seems to have become worse over the same period. Made for frustrating riding at times.

Suitable for most shoes, 35 to 45 yards

Blimey, you need big feet. For £5.99 - I assume you just plug in before putting the shoes on, then unplug/remove when riding, or are you "electric-ed" up when riding. My boots are super toasty but £5.99...

Edit, seen that you ride 'plugged in' on the bargain thread.

Yes, kept them plugged in for the whole ride today.
