England : London Sunday London ride

Hi, just wondering what a lap of hyde park consists of mileage wise and what its like cycling around there, busy or ok.Thanks

About 3 miles. In the mornings it's pretty quiet. On the cycle path it's not wise to go fast due to peds and runners, so take it easy. North Carriage and West Carriage Drives has traffic but not a lot. South Carriage Drive is closed to motorised traffic so you can get some good speed up

If you want to do speed work, head for Regents Park. Quite a few cyclists do. The outer Circle is a 2 and 3/4 mile loop.

It's usually the second sunday in the month.
But @topcat1 may be out and about.

It's a goolie catcher, it's pretty heavy and absorbs bumps like a 70's steel frame. Nice and smooth there's not much flex so there's no pogo bouncing.

You have to take the Steve Abrahams' approach to riding up hill and enjoy the view (which is fine with my knees).

I've got the medium size frame and there's no standover gap (hence goolie catcher) and have just ordered a longer stem so i can stretch out a bit more. It's got that Allsopp effect at traffic lights.
