Nice ride around Knatts Valley with iZap. 49 miles passed quickly and the rain held off. Even after dropping Arnold back off at the DT i was still home 30mins early which went down well with the Missus.

Thanks for the company Arnold. Nice ride and very much enjoyed hitting 40 down Speedgate hill.

Putting a marker down for Sunday, 18[sup]th[/sup] September as I plan to run my Thames Path Meander. You can read about the first two over at the other place. Yes, I know there's a bike event on in London that day, but we won't be using the same roads. OTOH, I'm moving the starting point from the Monument to the Southwark Needle (next to Ev4n5) at the southern end of London Bridge; 10:00 departure.

We'll head east, staying as close to the Thames as is feasible, crossing back north at Woolwich, then back toward the City - there will be a few worthwhile diversions from the river. The route is roughly 50km, nearly all off-road, with only one hill (and a flyover). It can be done on skinny tyres (I've done it on 25s) but if you have something beefier you may be more comfortable. There are gates and a few stairs, so tandems and trikes of both varieties may have some difficulties. There will be riverside lunch and tea stops; the pace will be slow.

Sounds great.. however as it's the Harwich FNRttC weekend I am going to have to decline.
Would have been nice to get the old flatbar, wider tyred bike out for a spin... so make sure you run again Andrij.

Ahh, I heard somebody shout, as we passed doing opposite directions. Tried looking back over my shoulder but had 2 cars up my 'arris. The glimpse of striped b&w jersey I saw, did make me wonder if it was you, in the 'Convict' jersey?

Hello Dave :hello:

And on another note Andrij.
Maybe a good idea to start a new thread with this ride as it's going to get swallowed up and disappear.

Maybe, if it's something slow and easy... with a cafe stop and not too far! My legs can feel the exertion from Today - must be getting old

What about that cafe we did sometime last winter, in or around Holland Park somewhere? I recall some pigeons flapping around inside and there was a pootle through the park track to get there...?
