What a lovely ride. Beautiful weather. Nice bits of London. Lovely cafe! I even enjoyed the hills!

Next weekend is Andrij's thames ride but the weekend after (the 25th) TdrInka and I are hoping to go on a conventional Sunday ride. 9.30 HPC - hopefully lots of people can come! Route can be decided by majority on the day (although my vote will be for north london - maybe back to the Ally Pally cafe or something?).

Thanks for the lovely company (and the plug for next week's ride).

After this morning I can confirm that, even with a sub-optimal engine atop it, n+1 can both go fast when terrain permits as well as climb hills with relative ease. Me happy.

Nice Hewitt, Andrij - made to measure? (Or just rough for rough trade sandal-wearers?)

Sadly not made to measure, but I did go up to Leyland for a fitting before I ordered it. They did have to add an extra bit in the left rear triangle so it could support a disk brake, but that's as 'custom' as the frame gets.

anyone considered heading to london to catch the TT build up and crit for the ToB this Sunday? I might break my 6 week riding hiatus for a gentle roll into town to rub shoulders with a few pros.

I'd been looking at the route but was waiting for the weather to firm up a bit before deciding.

Bit of promotion for my "lanes and fens" ride on the 29th October. I've been thinking about it for a while and was going to wait for nicer weather, but in light of recent "discussions" I thought I'd put my money where my mouth was! :-) it's a beautiful route, well worth a £12 train ticket. Once out of cambridge we will not see a single traffic light or A road, and if we are lucky we'll be able to draft a tractor or 2 through the fens!

Just in case anyone is interested I may be heading out to Southend "very" early to be back to London by 1130am or going to hills of kent for a spin this Sunday.

I could be in with this, but I'll know for sure on Saturday.

Okeydoke - I am heading out to the hills of Kent to do the Knatts Valley Route which is about 45 ish miles. If anyone wants to meet then its the DT at 08.30. I have to be home for midday.

Dont forget Andrij's ride around the Thames Paths which is also happening tomorrow.

I am watching the rugby and then napping for the rest of the day? I have much the same plans for Monday

given your mileage you deserve it Mart. Have a nice day !
