Thanks for coming along User10571, Topcat, Mista Preston, iZaP, Abs & Rimas. It's so nice having such lovely lanes so close to home (and so close to London for that matter). Lovely weather again too. All in all a very pleasant ride. So glad everyone enjoyed it. Will do it again soon.
iZaP, great having you along.. always good to double up the Mad Lithuanian quotient...

Henry loved having you all visit and make a fuss of him.

Will send you a gpx of the route User10571.

Becs, it's simple.. go to bed early, get up early. get a train from Victoria to Bromley. Lazy mare..

Not exactly a Sunday London Ride for me - especially as it was a Monday and I am without permission to ride a bike - but it was fun to meet up - and what a great spot. I had a great walk and I became a tourist for the afternoon. I took some pics. Thank you Ian for co-ordinating it so brilliantly. Pitch Perfect!

M :hello:

Great pictures, M.

Looked like a great ride as well on a glorious day! I was very sorry not to make it but I am sitting with ice pack on my leg so would have been silly to do too much...

Hope there is another ride out that way over the summer.

Wow Miranda, some fantastic pics. Glad you got to Farningham and Lullingstone, well worth the effort. It really is a beautiful part of the Country isn't it?

Tom Hart.. has a fascinating story.
he was kidnapped in Columbia whilst plant collecting, held for nine months and threatened with death. Whilst in captivity it's where he came up with the idea for the World Garden. He wrote a book about it called 'The Cloud Garden'.

And Frank.
Of course, will do the route again.

Thank you Frank. Sorry to hear about the ice pack - hope it did the trick. Todays ride (albeit the bit I did was on a train!) was fantastic. So pretty. If Ian can sort out the time differences between North and South London  it may well be on the agenda for a Sunday London Ride

Ian - thank you, really, for that. I look forward to doing it again. And Tom explained what happened to him. Absolutely extraordinary. A truly remarkable man. And he certainly knows his onions!!

I look forward to the next one - with or without my bike (depending how happy my doctor is!)

Up at 6:15, breakfasted and out at 7:15. Quick blast down into the city and then chased down a rider in the distance also doing a good pace. Finally catching the rider and dropping silently in behind him to recover some decency I recognised the bike but not the riders garb which turned out to be Topcat. Hugs all round on arrival at The Tap whilst we waited for the inevitable. Once Mr Preston arrived so began a great ride covered well above so no need to repeat.

Myself and Topcat rode back up into the city post ride and drinks for a late lunch, witnessing an ambulance trying to go through another a vehicle in Waterloo. Separating I foolishly tried a slightly different route home climbing a steep side of the hill up to Highgate. Stopped with a scream near the top as I badly cramped my right calf.

85 miles in total for me and fell asleep on the sofa when I got in.

Thanks all for a top day.

My pictures of the day are here

Wow the scenery looks amazing! Shame to have missed it; now one question - how hilly is is it?
