I hope it's the same next month.

Will you be on the September ride with the tandem? Never seen one being used in anger.

A tandem is, theoretically, more efficient machine than a solo bike, Ha bloody ha to that! To be fair though it's not a high spec road-bike-style thing, I will see how it goes over the 60 (ish) miles of this ride or I might be on the carbon job next time. I considered using the fixed wheel but there are a few small hills on the Rye - Ashford leg which I have not tried fixed yet, I wouldn't want to end up 24".

Thank you to everyone that turned out today. The weather and company was great.

Thoughts on Septembers ride is to certainly check the trains from Rye for those not cycling back to Ashford.
Good old Southern rail nearly scuppered the return journey for myself and @deptfordmarmoset by cancelling virtually all the trains. We just managed to squeeze on the last one. @User13710 had the same issue going towards Brighton so hopefully she has managed to get home ok.

Hopefully our intrepid tandem pair and their outrider sucessfully negotiated the lumps and bumps back to Ashford and arrived in one peice. Also hope @martint235 and @ianrauk completed their imperials safely without scaring too many motorists.

That was a good ride. Sorry I left early but if it's any consolation we are thrashing Barcelona. A really good ride I thought and I'll make sure for September I can hang around, possibly have some beers, sleep on the trains back etc
