One customer with a container onboard noted:

"The oak had been sent from France for reprocessing into veneered flooring in China, and was on its way back to a customer in Britain"

It is cheaper to send timber from France to China and back to UK than it is to process the wood into flooring locally.

That would be too soon even for just in time deliveries. There is another place that the UK is having importing difficulties with though....
