The winds must have been worse than I thought, as the news reader on BBC (10.00 news) told us that Largs is to the EAST of Glasgow. Yesterday it was 30 miles south west of Glasgow!

Started at 6am here, temp 3C and feels like -16C. Had around 30 minutes when the electric couldn’t decide whether to be on or off. Easing off just now with gusts down to 71mph

It was here too so I was thinking of going out for an hour or two on the bike.

Then there was a loud roaring sound outside and doors started blowing open INSIDE the house...

There are no windows open - that was just from minor gaps in the structure such as keyholes and the letterbox on the front door!

I think I will give it a while to settle down and try to get an hour in before sunset.

Now to go and see what happened to the recycling containers that I put out last night. Have they been emptied or has the wind emptied them on the street?! Are the containers still outside the house or are they now halfway to Burnley?!
