It is starting to arrive here in the Borders, its a wild day, the noise is awesome. just watching some Silver Birch trees (70'), it is amazing how far they can bend without snapping

my own home made wind meter on the top of the roof shows a gust of 67.1mph, which is the 7th biggest gust (weekly max gust) that I have recorded in the 15 years of keeping these records

According to the BBC weather app, it's gusting about 70 mph here just now, and it sounds very rough out there. But in the next 2 hours the gusts are to increase to 86 mph  .

Blustery here still. My weather station recorded a max gust of 54MPH, which is nothing compared to thet which my Northern brethren have in store.

Wheelie bins everywhere, some minor damage to thnodd roof here and there, nothing too tragic.

Pretty drafty here but no trees down in the woods or anything

I did look on Windy and the Menai Straits look pretty hairy!!
I used to live near there and it could funnel the wind into a gale on a calm day at time - so today should be "interesting"

The worst has now passed by quite suddenly.
It was very windy and the rain was hammering down.
Then it suddenly stopped, the wind died down and there is now just a gentle breeze. The clouds are breaking and it is getting brighter.
